spa-like feel
NewMom Sep 21, 2009
Great experience at the hotel - it was like staying at a spa the entire time. The aroma and music on the main floors made ... you never want to leave. That combined with the view of the ocean made you never want to leave! The staff bent over backwards to help you. The "Your Wish My Wish" button on the phone was true - anything we asked for, they were able to do for us, evening find our baby's lost sandal! The food was healthy and unique at all of the restaurants. The chef at MB won on the Iron Chef show - so that tells you how incredible the food was there. The gym was so modern and clean. The pools were perfect for us and our baby. We had a wonderful time at Aqua and can't wait to go back. Plus, the location is great because La Isla (an outdoor mall) is right across the street and Kulkulcan (an indoor mall) was a 5 minute walk away. Or you can hop on a city bus and get to more shopping, restaurants, hotels, and more!

The restaurant at the hotel (MB) was delicious, but nothing compared to "Harry's Prime Steakhouse and Raw Bar" which was a 5 minute taxi drive from the hotel. Some other nice restaurants in the area were Ruth's Chris and La Madonna.

To save money on food and shopping, we found it's a lot cheaper if you go down to Centro 23 or 28. Meals for two people cost around $12 dlls which is four times less than eating in the hotel zone.

Ideal Cancun Hotel
Ant Sep 5, 2009
The service was exceptional. Every room in the building was beautiful from the lobby right up to the hotel room. I really ... have only 2 concerns with this hotel and they are minor. The sun in Cancun is overpowering and they don't have shade over the pools (the lounge seating near the pools have umbrellas though). The towels were really rough as if they didn't use fabric softener but Im sure that'll be sorted out.

Great girls' family getaway
Jass Sep 3, 2009
The hotel location was great, the installations were superb. I took my two daughters with me, so we could have a girls' time ... before going back to school. We spent time in the hotel, swimming, relaxing, parasaling, jet-skiing, it was really fun. We also took one day to visit Tulum, Coba and the Cenotes, amazing experience. We would definitelly go back to this hotel. The only thing, I got hooked up in a time-share presentation to get a discount in some activities, total waste of time, never got anything as promised. But besides this, the service was excellent and the food was great.

Aqua Cancun
merqurio Sep 3, 2009
Everything was great, from room service to the pools. The only thing is that I was suckered in on attending a 90min (took ... 3hrs) timeshare presentation, when they told me it was a complementary breakfast with one of their managers that included discount cards to use in Cancun through out my stay just for staying with them. By attending the presentation the next morning at 10am it killed the entire day since I was schedule to go to Cozumel at 11:30am and instead ended staying local to the hotel zone. Overall my stay at Aqua was close to excellent and will continue to stay there but be more cautious when they offer me those freebies.

Relaxing. Smelled wonderful. Best hotel in Cancun, hands down. Plaza Kukulkan mall was one block away and La Isla directly ... across the street. Not that you'd want to leave the hotel or have any reason to, really. The restaurants were top notch, especially Siete for the breakfast buffet and MB. Eight different pools to choose from, plus the crystal clear Caribbean. Try not to miss the 3 Macaws doing their flight around the grounds in late afternoon. It's breathtaking. I can't imagine ever going to another hotel again.

I travel a lot and I this is one of the best hotels I have been in. New construction, gorgeous modern design, wonderful food, ... 8 pools, great service, nice spa, etc. It's in front of the Isla mall with many restaurants & shops. If I had to point to something negative (which really wasn't) it would be that the pool restaurant was closing early (however, others opened afterwards) In general the staff wanted to make us feel welcomed; their logo is "your wish is our wish" which tells you a lot about the hotel. I want to go back SOON!!

VTgrad88 Jun 8, 2009
My wife and I went to the Aqua without our kids to rest and relax. The hotel is very good at that. The pools are great and ... at any given time you will find someone asleep in the "shelf" area of the pool. Also, probably the best hotel food that I have had in Cancun. We did not have a bad meal at any time. The location cannot be beat as it is right across the street from La Isla. So on the nights where we went out for dinner, we just walked across the street and went to La Madonna, Italianna and Thai. My one complaint is the maid service was hit or miss as was the turn down service at night. One of their big marketing things is the "aromatherapy" in the hotel and the fact that you can order up a different aroma each night. I think we only received ours for one of the five nights we were there. Plus nothing in our rooms for room service. No menu, no hotel map, nothing. I was surprised by this as it is a very nice hotel.

Luxury Oasis - Perfect Relaxing Getaway
Ed& Anne's Get away Adventures Jun 7, 2009
If you are looking to visit a tropical paradise in the Cancun Hotel Zone away from the nightclub scene and just "slow down" ... look no further than Aqua. One of the finest spa's and pools you'll find anywhere. Soothing new age music and aromatherapy transcends the experience throughout the property. Excellent restuarants and lounges will keep you at home base if you desire. Service is polished and attentive. Rooms are modern with flatscreen TV's, marble floors and high cotton count linen on the beds. Food quality is excellent and signature cocktails are a must to try. Prices are not cheap. Expect to pay $ 14 per drink for Pina Colada at the bar and an average of $ 25 for lunch entrees and $ 39 for dinner. Celebrity chefs and seasoned mixologists have cast their talent on the recipes to impress - with success. Be aware of concierge coupon offers at check in for free spa treatments or free F&B - this includes a 2 hour presentation / discussion with local time share (points) rep with hotel company - can be medium to high pressure depending. Overall, great hotel, memorable, relaxing and worth a future return.

Great Trip
Karen Jun 2, 2009
Our stay at Aqua was fantastic! Its definitely a hotel for couples, families and older singles. It has a spa feeling when ... you walk in and the aromotheraphy smell was very nice and relaxing. We weren't sure how things in Cancun would be since tourism is down due to the flu scare. Things in Cancun were fine, safe ... quiet though but that was ok. The hotel had low occupancy but it didn't show in their service. All rooms have a great view, the staff was great. . helpful, courteous and always smiling. Everything was spotless! The pool area was great -- we spent a lot of our time there and the staff at the pool couldn't have been better. The breakfast buffet was really good .. buy the breakfast deal when you book. Location was good with the mall across the street for shopping and restaurants. You can catch a bus outside of the hotel and get to other restaurants and night life very easily or taxi is readily available as well. All in all and great trip and a great stay at The Aqua.

We spent most of our time at the pool. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was our favorite. The beach was short but you ... were still able to walk along it. We usually ate outside the hotel except for one night we ate at MB (great food). The mall is just across the street so we would walk across for lunch most days.

Most of the attractions worth while will need a taxi, bus(cheaper) or car to get there. To long of a walk from Aqua. The swim with dolphins was great, and either snorkeling or scuba diving would be a fun experience. I did the snorkeling and next time I will try scuba diving. That was the first for me and it was so much fun. Parasailing was fun, also new to me. All these are located in one area, where you reserve all this I did not do the pryamids, only because the tour was 11 hrs. long. I wanted to do other things that were not so long. Taking the bus was much, much cheaper than a taxi.
