Winter escape

Check in was ok til I realized at 8am the next morning they gave us a room that they were jack hammering directly beneath us. Laid down to take a nap only to find our air conditioner did not work. Had to call maintenance, which fixed it promptly. We were able to switch rooms due to the construction. Only had one fine dining restaurant available. We wanted to book tours, only to find that the tour sales person was never in. Wifi was spotty which we paid $60 for & it barely worked. Overall, was very disappointed.

shaky start but good finish

They could not find our reservation when we arrived, but after searching for an hour they finally found it. Good thing that I had printed reservation confirmation page. There is no way to tell the difference between the rooms you get, except if you book the penthouse suit. The concierge was terrific. She was efficient with a big smile that would ease the wait, but she was great.

Not worth it

Alot of construction going on. I called 2 days before to ask about construction going on they told them there was none. No sun in afternoon by pool blocked by new hotel being built. Not a five star resort.

Not worth the value

The Reception service very poor. It took nearly an hour to check in. The reception was always crowed and the staff unable to cope up and not very friendly. The staff appeared handicapped with language as well as the use of technology. All the 3 desk customers were cribbing for the various hotel services while we were waiting to check in. We had to remind the housekeeping to clean the room. The hotel restaurants had very limited menus. Our room coffee maker was cracked. Hotel had a steep charge for Wi-Fi use and only one PC was available in the lobby area which was very slow.

Le Meridien Hotel,Cancun

Someone is not overseeing this hotel properly starting with a 30 minute check-in ordeal, coffee maker in room but no coffee after day one, etc. I travel often but would not stay at Le Meridien,Cancun again.

don't waste your money and vacation here!!

this hotel doesn't anything that you need for a good vacation in Cancun. only one mid level restaurant, cold hot tub, noise, construction around the hotel, rude staff, too expensive spa are things that will entertain you during your stay there. No credit resort or any perk and you should go out for any quality food or activity.

Just what we needed!

A+++++++ Our week at Le Meridien was fantastic. The service was absolutely OUTSTANDING. We spent a fair amount of time relaxing on the beach and by the pool. The staff could not have been more pleasant and accomodating. (As owners of a restaurant ourselves, we appreciate these things). My wife got a massage and raved about it. Breakfast daily at the hotel was wonderful. WIFI service is an extra charge and our connection was not the best, but we really didn't need it to be. Yes, there is construction and renovations going on at the hotel and at the adjacent property, but, if you let that ruin your vacation, it's your own fault. More than likely, we'll return next year.

Beautifully BORING

I might fall asleep writing this review, so bear with me. This hotel, while pretty, is painfully boring. There's no vibe whatsoever, and it feels like all the guests and staff are miserable. We arrived at around 8pm and all my husband and I wanted was to sit at the bar and have a drink and some fish tacos after a long day of travel. NO BAR. What's that...? NO BAR. This is a resort, and people are coming here to have fun and unwind. Our options were to go directly to sleep, get in ANOTHER cab and go somewhere else, or go to the hotel restaurant and try to make a first night memory. We chose the restaurant. Zzzzzzz. Nobody was there. Not even any music for ambiance. Ok, so the rest of the time we were there, we saw maybe 10-15 other people. It's a small, boutique hotel, but this was weird. The pool was boring, the pool bar was boring (and closed at 5), the food and drinks were way over-priced. Don't ask for the margarita pizza either, unless you want a tomato sauce and shredded cheese pizza. This whole thing was a let down. Things we liked? The gym- while not very clean, it did have everything you'd need. The spa- while expensive, we both had massages we enjoyed. Those are the only plusses I can think of.......

Eh, Nice hotel, but the Amenities could have been better.

The hotel was beautiful. The beach and the pool were definitely up to par. The staff was friendly and ready to jump at the chance to help you. However, the breakfast in the mornings was EXPENSIVE and not included. Also, they didn't really have a bar other than the bar by the pool and it closed around 9ish, from what I encountered. It's a bit off the beaten path, so you had to walk just a bit to get to the main strip where all the restaurants were. The food at the cabana down by the pool was excellent. I just wished they had a bit more to do 'after hours' since they were so far from the nightlife of Cancun.
