Definitely in my favorite hotels list
First of all this was one of the nicest hotel I've ever been. When compared with the price and distance to the hotel zone,it totally worth it. I booked a garden view room, but after I arrived the hotel upgraded my room to a lagoon view one with no extra charge. Staff was also very friendly, I got all the hints about best local tequila and where to shop, where to see etc. Also there is a nice supermarket right across the street, so if u missed sth back home (like sun block cream) u could easly get one from there. And what I learned from a diver is u should buy bio-degredable sunblock cream in Mexico, not to damage the coral life. Best thing about the hotel is beachhhhhhhhhh...OMG..White sands and beautiful water..I definitely loved it..

Short walk from hotel
There was a Taco Factory restaurant with a very short distance to hotel. You could go and enjoy nice Mexican food there, taste was good and price was very good compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area.

not what I expected
[...], if you do stay here don't use their taxis or else you will pay more than double the average cost. Finally, it was really loud. You can hear everything in the room next to you, as well as music and partying throughout.

Great Hotel
The hotel is really nice, looks like it was just remodeled. The staff is nice and the location is good. The only thing that I didn't like is that the pool is kind of small and they don't have hot tubs. In general a great hotel

Great Deal
Great Deal...The beach is the best in Cancun. The entire beach area was great. The pool was also great with plenty of hot tub space. The location is also great. It is walking distance to plaza caracol for shopping and eating. I dont go to hotels to check on how the maids do thier jobs (if you do, get a life!), as long as i get a clean room at check in it is all good, and this is what i got. Could hear some nearby club's noise but did not bother me however i could see it being a problem for light sleepers. Activity options right next to the beach area was great (sea doo, parasail, etc). Overall, great choice.

Great location, beautiful views.
I was not there for a vacation, but have lived here before. the Presidente is the perfect location for travelling either downtown to great restaurants, or the hotel zone for partying and good food as well. the beach is beautiful. I actually prefer this side because the view is spectacular. even at night to see the lights of Isla and the pirate ships on the water.

Great place to stay!
The location was great...the beach beautiful. I thought they could've done a better job at showing what amenities were available. I never saw any non-motorized water toys-kayaks,floats,etc. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was way too pricey.

Short walk from hotel
There's a little plaza across the street with a supermarket-cheap beer/liquor/breakfast items/snacks. And also a couple of nice cafes for some good, cheap, local food.

Great Home away fro home
My third time in Cancun and the first at the Presidente. Very quiet location away from the club zone with easy access to shops, restaurants with a great beach. Spectacular swimming pool and what a great sunset. Great shops and restaurant with friendly and efficient staffing.

Good Experience
I had a nice time in this hotel. I recommend mostly for family or low key people who dont want to be in the middle of stuff or for those looking for a good value. The exterior is not quite as nice as many of the other hotels, but inside and the pool/beach area were very nice and well maintained. We had a nice 1st floor room with a patio and hammock. The bed was a little hard for my friends taste, but I thought it was ok. Furniture was standard hotel fare and the bathroom was quite nice stone accents and the like. The food was pretty good at the restaurants here. The breakfast buffet was excellent and its worth getting on orbits ($7 or whatever it is per day) because price there is much higher (about 3 times). The orbizs rep there had packages for tours, and the prices were very negotiable so may want to wait to book these things in person. Maids were good and leaving 20 pesos they even folded cloths and arranged things for you. Roomservice was was ok. The service was slow and the food was pretty good (better than most room service but still not that good). The front desk was very attentive, but a little stingy on what bills they would exchange (I broght money direct from the bank in the states and they would not accept some for minor tares and such). The pools and beach were excellent as were the grounds. Pool/beach side service was not great, but ordering yourself from the bar was not too inconvenient. The bus was right outside and frequent. Avoid taxis if possible because they overcharge (and hail from street not from hotel for cheaper negotiable rates). Location is pretty good. Not too far from Hotel zone stuff or town, but not in the middle of things either.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
Try eating in town at some of the patio cafes along the sidestreets of Ave. Tulum. Ask at hotel which bus and the trip is 75 cents (about 4 miles away). The food and drinks are good as is service and its much cheaper.
