InterContinental Presidente Cancun Beachfront Resort

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 8-day vacation at the IC-Presidente-Cancun! This was my husband?s first trip to Cancun, and my second stay at this hotel, which was over 30-yrs ago. We were both amazed and wonderfully surprised how well this facility has been maintained (as well as the hotel?s restaurants, surrounding grounds, and beach) during the past 30 years. What is important to us are actual hotel accommodations overall operations, service provided by management, staff, and cleanliness. The IC-Presidente exceeded our expectations and we sincerely feel that the entire hotel staff truly put forth the effort to meet the needs of ALL their guests to ensure that their stay is enjoyable and an experience to be remembered. The IC-Presidente is conveniently located near the end of the Hotel Zone with access to public buses that stop in front of the hotel and goes in either direction within the Hotel Zone as well as downtown Cancun for shopping and/or dinning. In addition, the hotel has several gift shops in the lobby, four restaurants (on-site), and access to one of the most beautiful white-powder sand beaches in Cancun. The beach palapas have small tables, chairs and lounges (at no charge) and the hotel staff provides food & beverage service to their guests. During the day, we enjoyed the quietness while relaxing on the beach or at the big pool. I think that was one of the most important and enjoyable things during our stay was the privacy and peaceful surroundings that the Presidente -Cancun offers. It also has a very reasonably priced ?Happy Hour ? 2-for-1,? daily at the beach palapa restaurant & bar from 6:00p-7:00pm, and inside Lobby Bar from 7:00p-8:00pm (this bar also has a very impressive glassed wall display case that has over 305 bottles of different brands of tequilas)! During our stay we had the opportunity of meeting several of the managers and staff and feel they should be commended for their exemplary service.

the staff was good. I didn't have a good experience, but I still recomend the place hopefully they can serve better to the custumers.

My girlfriend and I were due a vacation, but weren't sure where to go. Europe was off limits because of the exchange rate. ($7.50 for a little Coke, yeah right....) We both agreed on Cancun. We took a shuttle bus from Cancun airport to the Presidente. It's a nice drive, but the hotel is the last hotel on Cancun Island, so shuttle service can take a while depending on the number of other stops. Pulled up to find 2 or 3 guys eager to help with your luggage. The check-in was very easy and pretty quick. We got a Superior Lagoon View. It was on the 5th floor, windows facing opposite from the beach. The view was of the lagoon, but you can see the light blue tones of the beach on the other side and the hotels lining the hotel zone. The bellboy was waiting in front of our door with our luggage and I never felt pressured to tip. The room was large and clean. It had tile floors and a firm (not too hard) king size bed. The furniture was in good shape and the linens and towels were too. The windows open pretty wide but it lets in hot humid air and noise from the major street below. I kept the windows closed and never had any complaints. There's a TV, clock radio, in-room safe and minifrigde slash minibar. KEEP IN MIND that they have a rule against outside Food and Drink. They do have a couple of restaurants on site and a small store in the lobby with snacks and drinks and a whole bunch of things. The beach in front of the Presidente is beautiful.. It has clean white sand and different tones of blue and it's really calm. We walked down the beach a few times and always came back to this beach. The other beaches were full of sea plants/weeds both on the sand and in the water. They weren't as clean. The hotel has beach chairs and palapas on the sand with food and drink service. They also have two pools. One is the adults only pool. It was usually pretty quiet and the other one is the main pool with 5 whirlpools built in. They are very nice. Both covered in blue Venetian-style tile. The hotel provides clean towels and there's always someone ready to bring you a cold drink or a hot snack.. The hotel had 2 restaurants that offered breakfast. Both buffet style. We only ate at the one closest to the beach. We ate here 5 times. The food was good and they changed the line up daily. We had different choices each time. We liked the custom-omelettes and pastries, but really loved the view of the beach. They have a coffee bar in the lobby and an Italian restaurant across the parking lot, but we didn't patronize them. We really liked the food we had while relaxing on the beach. The menu is small but good. (We liked the pizza and the chicken sandwich) The drinks were good too. We loved the look of the hotel. The building looks kinda retro. (it was actually the first hotel to be built here when Cancun was starting up, 30-something years ago) The hotel is kept very clean. The lobby had a cool modern-art feel to it. Lots of shapes and angles. There's a long water fountain that I dugg. The lobby is huge. First you find the front desk then the lobby opens up with a nice view of the ocean. They have a lounge area with a piano and coffeebar. Further in is a bar, lounge area and small stage. They have live saxophone and band on Thurs, Fri, Sat. They also have a small balcony over looking the pool/beach area. Really liked the look and feel of the lobby. The outside pool area was very clean and spacious. We didn't get hounded by timeshare people. They were there though. I later found out that we were too young. We are both in our late 20's. You need to be 32 and married. The only problem (if you want to call it that) was when we started smelling cigarette smoke. We think it was coming from a bathroom ...

Hotel staff was great. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

The Intercontinental Presidente was a pleasant hotel for a vacation. The amenities were great: it has its own beach, 2 pools, and a frienly staff that is very accomodating. The restaurants inside of the hotel were also excellent. The rooms were in good shape and the view of the ocean is incredible. It is also within walking distance of other restaurants, shopping centers and nightclubs.

The Intercontinental was a very nice property. Both the pool and beach had tons of chairs available which was great because you didnt have to wake up early just to get a chair. The food at the pool and restaurants was also very good and the wait staff was very friendly. Bus stop is right across the street.

the presidente has the best beach around hands down. this is the main reason we chose this resort.we weren't dissappointed. the pool water was relatively warm, so having the pristine water by the beach was a blessing. activities (jet skiing, parasailing, etc. were right in our vicinity. we were really glad we did not have an all-inclusive resort because we able to try a lot of the restaurants in the hotel zone. all of our destinations were easily accessed by the bus system. acommadations were fine: clean room, great air conditioning, in-room safe, and free internet service in the business center. the only thing that bothered us a little bit was the persistent people in the lobby trying to get us to join the club associated with the resort.

Things we like: (1) Friendly & Helpful Staff (2) Restaurant is located on the beach and is connected to the hotel. (3) Nice size pool (4) Hotel is well located on the bus routes. Only six minutes away on a bus ride to the nearest discotheques, restaurants, shopping centers. The cost for the bus is approximately sixty cents per ride. (5) Romm is extremely clean and comfortable Things we don't like: (1) Room's price is high compared to their competitors. (2)A lot of promoters trying to promote time share, vacation packages inside the hotel.

Bei Anreise waren die Zimmer mit Meerblick im 6.Stock gerade fertiggestellt- diese sind wunderschön ausgestattet und haben einen tollen Blick. Der Standard ist dautlich besser als der der nicht renovierten Zimmer, von denen es wohl aber auch noch viele gibt. Frühstück im 6.Stock ist sehr dürftig, lohnt sich nicht - Frühstueck am Pool ist mit 250 Mxn pro Person serh teuer angesetzt, aber reichhaltig. Lage am Strand ist wudnerschön, in der Tatt einer der schönsten Strände Cancuns. Hotel liegt in Laufweite zum Zentrum der Zona Hotelera mit Bars, Restaurants und Clubs (sehr gute Lage auch hier).

Es un hotel bellísimo, de primera calidad. Reservé una habitación con vista a la laguna y respetaron mi reservación tal cual. La vista era Hermosísima y por si fuera poco este hotel tiene la mejor playa de cancún, sencillamente fabulosa. Su lobby es precioso con una cafetería además del bar. La atención es excelente y parece que a partir del 15 de Noviembre dará servicio una nueva torre del hotel que están decorando actualmente. Ampliamente recomendable. Definitivamente volveré a este hotel en cuanto me sea posible.
