Great vacatiion

Hotel was in a great location if you like to go out at night. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were here for anniversary and the girl at the front desk sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne. The room was noisy in the morning. Their was workers pounding above us at 9 in the morning. Bathtub looked like it had been painted. We paid extra for the breakfast which we thought was not that good.Better to eat somewhere else.

Cancun August 8/13-8/20/2010

The Hyatt in general: This hotel was immaculate! I would recommend everyone to stay here. The hotel is right off the beach, perfect for relaxing and getting a tan and no matter what room you get, you'll get some type of oceanview. You're taken care of from the moment you get off your taxi. Upon check-in however, the receptionist has you sign a form stating that you will not bring in any outside food/drinks etc., however people still do so no worries! The rooms are beautiful and very clean! There's room service everyday, however room service personnel come by in the early morning to check whether they're able to clean the room or not, so if you don't want to be woken up at 9am, ask for a "privacy" placard and place it on your door and they'll come by later when you're out of your room to clean it. Rooms are cleaned everyday! Hotel features: The hotel restaurant is very yummy but pricey! Be ready to pay $18 USD+ per plate. The hotel lounge is very nice and well-priced (what you'd expect to pay at a US bar/lounge- $4.50 USD+ for beer and $9.50 USD for cocktails). Location: The hotel is located within a 5-7 minute walk from all the hot clubs/bars in Cancun as well as the food court and flee market area! Coco Bongo is a must! Best club ever, nothing else like it! There's also a little convenience store located across the street from the hotel so that you can buy any items from beer/drinks-personal items that you may need on your trip. Cancun in general: Cancun isn't cheap at all bec/it's a tourist area. If you're planning to party in Cancun, plan to pay as much as you would in the States. Bars range from $15-$50 USD for open bar. Word of caution on open bar, the quality of alcohol is very cheap! So, if you can't do cheap alcohol, buy your own drinks, however, if you don't mind...no problem!

Great Place, Great Vacation, 1 complain.

Location is excellent. This side of the Hotel Zone is where most bars/ clubs are at, within walking distance for Hyatt guests. Everything was excellent, except there was a moldy smell in the room. I guess it was borderline annoying. I told the staff after checking out, maybe I should've told them after the 1st night. I don't know if that was the only room or if it was in the Central air system.

Nice hotel, not the best location

My wife and I had a very nice 4-day vacation here, the beach was beautiful the staff were friendly, and the amenities were nice. The hotel property was smaller than others we had been to in the past; there is only one restaurant and 1.5 pools. The location was not fantastic if you want to venture outside of the property, it was about a ten minute walk to get to a few not-so-great restaurants. So, we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation for 4 days, but any longer would have been too long, unless we started planning full-day excursions.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The breakfast buffet in the hotel was awesome. It's 190 pesos per person (around $16), the food was delicious, and we ate enough that we only needed an afternoon snack before dinner. My wife and I ate there every morning.

A great hotel.

I did not realize that Cancun could be so cold in December. We had 6 full days and 3 were cloudy windy and cold - 3 were warm and sunny. Regardless, the beach was absolutely gorgeous and there is plenty to do. We did not take any tours, but there are tons of them if you are interested. The hotel is really nice. Not too big so even though it was sold out, we never felt crowded. No trouble getting a chair on the beach. We stayed no the club level of the hotel which I highly recommend. [...]The top three floors are considered club level and they have great views. The daily complimentary continental breakfast and happy hour were wonderful. Even better, the club level has its own concierge. We were able to check in and out in the club room and the concierge was very helpful with suggestions, making dinner reservations, checking in to our return flight, etc. They have water and coffee available all day in the club room which was great. The hotel does not allow you to bring in drinks/food from the oustide so having access to bottled water all day was helpful. Overall the staff at this hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. I would say, the best I've ever experienced.

At the suggestion of my brother in law, we took a short taxi ride into downtown Cancun for dinner at La Habichuela. It was fantastic. The atmosphere was very unique and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend it if you want a nice dinner off "the strip" of Cancun. Definitely take a cab to and from the restaurant.

Beautiful views, great service

The staff was kind and very helpful. The Hyatt is located in a great place. It's right on the water, and there are little shops all around. Beware: things are definitely pricier than one might expect. Other than the cost of food, everything was great. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again. Pay the extra for the ocean view if you're a water/balcony person. It is well worth the extra few dollars.

Book recreational activities with your trip. I think it will save you a lot of hassle and probably money. We didn't, and things worked out great, but in the future, I would probably book everything all together.
