Hyatt Regency Cancun

From the moment we drove in the entire staff was super helpful!! The front desk was very clear and help us with the semi-ocean view upgrade. The only negative is that we could hear the fans going on all night long not too loud but definately a bit annoying and the bed wasn't as comfortable as you would expect from a hotel like that!! Every thing else was just right!! Restaurant were a bit pricey!!

We went to Cancun and upgraded to Hyatt based on the pictures provided by [...]- we wanted to enjoy the ocean -- that was the top priority - so the pictures looked enticing and we booked the hotel and air thru [...]- the way [...]pop up shows up asking if you would like to talk to the representative for some additional info was pretty helpful - we took advantage of that and talked to the rep - who was very helpful and we booked the vacation with him in less than 30 minutes (if that). The travel, airport pickup, hotel reception - all was nice. The hotel location is at the end of the cancun blvd - and so it gives you almost 270 degress of ocean view once you get out of the hotel. There are cute huts outside the hotel with benches and king beds (literally) about 100 meters from the beach - which you can relax on - watching (and listening to) the ocean.Sitting on the bed, some ~100 meters from the ocean , watching stars at night, listening to the ocean waves, with light breeze - if that is not heaven, I dont know what is. Plus, kids are well protected with a glass fence some 3-4 feet tall - to keep you totally relaxed. That was probably the best part...we saw only one more hotel which offers this ...Just about the only downside was that we were told that room will have ocean view and at the hotel, they said we had std room - which, while had the 'water view - that of lagoon - not ocean' we didnt have the ocean view for the package. So it cost us addl 20 USD per night for the upgrade to the ocean view - which was not that bad - but disappointing as we had stressed that all that mattered to us was the ocean view and we still ended up paying extra for that upgrade. This hotel is excellent, service is great and there is a grocery store 24x7 walking distance - so you can use that if you choose to do so. The food at the hotels (all of them) in cancun is expensive - but the quality was good. You can go to the pool and eat and drink while still in the pool - they have a kitchen adjecent to the pool. That was fun too. The pool was pretty big and nice. If Hyatt starts to offer at least break-fast in the package, that would make Hyatt my best choice - that was probably the only missing piece in the hotel - breakfast not included.

Location, Hotel staff is good. Very clean. Rooms are small and appear crammed. Food is good but expensive. Beach is nice. Pools are small has no Jacuzzi. Transportation is easily accesible.

The Hyatt is located directly at the bend of the "7" in the hotel zone... directly next door to the Dreams hotel and next to a private marina where we did the Solo Buceo scuba tour. The location is a short 5min walk to the Cancun hot spots and the public bus system. The hyatt rooms are very fresh and clean. This the same impression that you get of the hotel from the moment you walk into the lobby. The staff is very hospitable and helpful. The beach area of the Hyatt is very wide and extensive and we didn't have to fight for beach chairs or beds which was great. My only complaint is that the sand has a lot of shells which becomes painful after a while (but this is a result of the hurracaine that occured a few yrs ago and stripped off all the nice soft sand). We played beach soccer and vball the first few nights at the hotel with other guests... alot of fun! They have an activities coordinator Braulio on-site with a daily schedule of the fun for the day (water polo, pool/sand vball, beach soccer, ping pong, pool aerobics, etc)... really cool guy! We also enjoyed the tasty pool-side lunch from the Pool Bar. They also provided their own lifeguards for the beach. They charge for internet... but, the McD's down the block has free wifi with purchase. They also don't allow you to take your own food down to the public areas of your hotel... so, you'll need to eat your own snacks/drinks in your own room.

I loved the location at the end of the strip. Beach is beautiful and clear water. The food and service was great. Hard to sleep one night with the loud winds whistling trough our sliding glass door to the balcony.

I loved the look of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was outrageously soft and comfortable. The room was amazing!! The location of the hotel is also great because it's near all the clubs and tourist attractions. The one bad thing was that this hotel does not offer all-inclusive....which is not a terrible thing considering that the food was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! They should just eliminate the menu and serve nothing. I paid 20 dollars for chicken strips and fries......20 dollars for the fries because that was all I ate. The best benefit is that this hotel is the hot spot. So if you don't feel like going out, the people come to you.

The Hyatt is located in the best beach spot on the hotel strip for families. The water was much calmer. Lots of great hotel sponsored activities for families which was convenient and FREE! The restaurants were good with excellent quality and variety. The pool was on the smaller side, which wasn't a problem for us, but could be if there were big crowds. Great walking location for the hotel zone. A little loud at night, but didn't bother the kids and we were so tired at the end of the day, it didn't really matter. The service was adequate, but don't plan on being rushed through meals. The spa was also high quality with a good deal of variety and reasonable price. They came around the pool area several times offering promotions (20% off, 2 for 1 etc) - not sure if that was standard or because of slow period. Also, we found that the US dollar to peso exchange rate from the Hyatt was equal to or better than anywhere else in the area (not as good as if we had done the exchange in the US before we went - but it turned out not to be particularly material). That turned out to be VERY convenient. I would return to this hotel again. It really was a pleasant surprise for our family. We travel 1-2 times per year for family vacation with no specific brand loyalty to any particular chain. I was worried when I booked the trip that the Hyatt might be run of the mill, but the location, amenities, services, activities and ambiance were all above average.

It was great hotel, very nice location. I did not put 5 star because: Internet was not included-this is unbelievable now a days with this types of high quality hotel and I was shocked when this hotel charged me $15/day for every computer for my same name and same room number! I was attending for oral presentation in an international neuro-engineering conferences (from 27 April to 1st May, 2011)with one of our PhD student in same room#318. I hardly check more than 2 hours/day and my roommate(PhD student) also used internet for his presentation preparation about 2 hours/day. BUT-they charged $15 dollar for each computer and for 5 night stay I paid $150 US Dollar! Now I'm in trouble-my University will not reimbursed this huge costly internet and I can not justify the cost for this!They never explained that I have to pay for each computer's cost-if I knew before we would not used it. I requested several times during my checkout balance payment to review my internet bills, but no luck for me. I am extremely happy for this hotel's room and service and I love to recommend any of my colleague or friend to stay this hotel, I'll also remained them about their shocking internet using policy. I'll appreciate if this hotel's management can took off the internet bills from my account,if not-I have to responsible for this payment from my pocket!

nice service: I asked switching room to higher level and they did it next day. calm beach: because of the dam, the sea and beach under Hyatt is calm and clean. good view!
