Baby Daddy Oct 10, 2009
Our flight was late, so we just wanted to slide right in, take a shower, have a bite and put baby to bed. Took a little ... longer than we wanted for housekeeping to bring crib, but they did fine. Room was big and clean, bed firm and nice sheets. Would've liked free wi-fi, but didn't find that at many places in Mexico. The room service was good, but unremarkable. Not as crazy expensive as room service in US, but a bit high for Mexico.

You may not need to pay for parking. The gates were open when we were there and didn't need to pay. The lot is on your right as you drive up hotel driveway. Check before asking about paying for parking.

Very nice off season stay for the price
Gulliver Oct 2, 2009
We stayed in the very slow, off-season. Even so, the staff was very friendly. The pool is a very incredible infinity pool ... with a bar in the middle. You can order food or drinks. Very nice, although not open very late (maybe only due to off season), they close around 4 or 5pm. Staff is very friendly. The overall hotel is quite large. The food is not that great the coffee is worse, but I'm understanding that is typical of Mexico spots. The gym is small but very well equipped with nice quality machines and weights (all that are needed) but it is extra cost. Outside ambient pool music can be heard in the little villas, and some lower rooms of the main building. That bothered my friends. We were in a higher room and couldn't hear the outside music. Depending on what you seek it is pretty far out (South) in the Hotel Zone, which is farther away from the theme bars. But I liked it for that reason, after all, this is a resort. Cancun Hotel Zone has made it very easy to take the bus to and from locations for under a dollar U.S.D. I didn't find it a problem and they were quick. If you need tolerable cup of coffee, expect to visit Starbucks via the bus. The golf course is very pretty and large, and you will see an occasional lazy Croc lying around. Very cool. They don't bother the people. The beach is nice and well managed, it is very rocky in the water, but most of that area is. For soft swimmable blue water, take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. The convenience shops do not have food or a variety of drinks. But they have necessities. The economy rooms are small, but no smaller than any other hotel. They have a mini-bar, no refrigerator (there is one available for extra cost). Good water pressure and the water is all purified, you can drink it. I absolutely loved it for the price. If it were more costly I would have checked out another. But this was a great value for a nice place. Very recommended.

Good Times!
Super Trooper Sep 16, 2009
Stayed 1 night and it was wonderful. Beach is ok. Red flags up so pretty much no swimming allowed. Also, beach was a ... little rocky. There is definitely room to relax and lay in the sand but closer to the water are half buried rocks. Pool and hotel grounds inside and out are very nice. Kind of weird no one really ate in their restaurants, except us of course. Food was ok but still thought that was strange.

Too Hot!!
Sweating in Cancun Sep 10, 2009
The hotel was too hot in the lobby, atrium, and elevators. There wasn't any A/C in Atrium that covered eight floors and two ... of the three hotel wings. That was very bad. As soon as you leave your room, you are hit with heat. Effectively, there is only A/C in your room. You sweat in the hotel and elevators, especially when there are many people in the elevators. I would expect a Hilton to have good A/C covering all indoor areas, especially in a hot place like Cancun. The main pool had some problem with the water. It was murky and green. Looked to me to be not clean.

zezo Aug 15, 2009
Location of the hotel away from the main strip is excellent, keeps the undesirables away from this site. Even though the ... pools are shallow and warm, you can always go to the sea, but I don't recommend it for kids, as it is very deep within a few yards. The service was excellent, if you ask for something you will get it within a few minutes. The restaurant food is OK, I would suggest more selections.

Fantastic Stay!
AO Aug 10, 2009
We just returned from a 5 nights stay at the Hilton Cancun. Im happy to say the hotel 100% exceeded our expectations. Upon ... arrival, we were upgraded to a high floor oceanview room with a humongous patio. The rooms are clean and modern with flat-screen TVs. We spent most of our days at the beach. Although it is not the hugest beach, after exploring some of the other hotels, it one of the biggest and nicest beaches with room for chaises/palapas, nice sand and an area for swimming. The infinity pool w/swim up bar is also great and it never seemed too crowded as there were so many pools throughout the property. The service is truly incredible and there we did not encounter one unfriendly staff member. Lunches were always good and not unreasonable and dinner at Mitachis restaurant was fabulous, overlooking the ocean. My only complaint could be the fitness center, which is small though it was never crowded. It is a distance away from the nightlife and restaurants, but the bus is so cheap and easy, we liked being away from the "spring break" crowd.

You can take the buses everywhere along the Cancun strip for under $1 per person. They run every 5 minutes or less however you must push a button in the back to get the bus to stop. So make sure you ask your hotel concierge ahead of time what landmark to look for that just before your stop.

Thin Walls
Angelica Aug 10, 2009
The pools are absolutely beautiful and the pool bar staff is very friendly. However, no one offered to help us with our bags ... when we first arrived or when we left. The walls in the hotel are extremely thin. I was woken up several times during the night by the guest in the next room. First, I could hear the squeeky mattress each time he turned around. At about 7 am, I heard his phone ring. I was then able to hear him talking, even though I could not make out what he was saying. I was also able to hear his footsteps as he paced back and forth in his room.

Most fun in Cancun!
Josh - Honeymooner Jul 27, 2009
Wonderful place! The hotel pools are unbeaten in Cancun; the view is magnificent! Hotel staff was helpful... though I wish ... the hotel treated their guests a little better than when you went to malls amd the like. Exchange rate was a little lower than true exchange; and nothing was free except towels. Seems like you should feel a little more taken care of at your "home base." the rooms were clean and our jacuzzi was nice. Overall it was a great experience. Of note, don't get any of the extra "things to do" at the hotel. These can be found much cheaper other places.

We went twice to the same restaurant, La Parilla in downtown Cancun (There are two of them, this one has a cow statue in front). The first visit on a Sat afternoon for their Mole (pronounced Mow-le) food festival buffet. Mole is a Mexican special kind of sauce poured over your meat or whatever you want to pour it on. One of the main ingredients is chocolate. They had 8 different types on Mole, all were incredible. The rest of the buffet was also excellent. the price 135 pesos. Around 10 dollars. The second visit was Sun night. Food was just ok. Great Mariachi Band though.
