Great Parnassus Resort & Spa-

Would not recommend Mon, Jul 13, 2009
Do not stay here ever!, The Staff is very unfriendly, the place is a dump, nothing works...e.g Hair Dryer, Light Bulbs out, TVs are out, remote controls broken, Air conditioner broken, or door did not lock had to switch room, etc... The Staff lies, mainly Upper Management they will tell you that they will take care of it and never show up, you will be very disappointed when you return to your room expecting maintenance to have fixed all broken items. Food was horrible, and the Hygiene was not good. They did not have protective Glass over the Buffest therefore, many hands where touching the food. The Pools are dirty, we found a Hair ball the size of a Softball. They take way too long for room service, and when you get it, you will be missing a Spoon, fork, ketchup, etc...don't bother to call, your food will be cold if they show up " If they". English is very poor, therefore it's hard to communicate with anyone (even Upper Management). Shows are lame Your room will be missing Water (They do not provide), front desk does not have tooth Brushes, tooth paste, etc... you will need to purchase. No Hair Conditioner is Provided, only Cheap Shampoo. No Water Slip Mats in Bathtub, T.p is made out of News paper (They use the cheapest products possible). Staff will argue with you every time, never do they admit they are wrong " They whole concept of the " Customer is always right" does not exist. Beach has a lot of Rocks, you have to walk about 30' to the Hilton Next door. Honestly don't be fooled by the Picture on Web Site..Baby pool is no where near the Big Pool. You will have to split your Children up. If you can, pay the extra $100.00 and go somewhere else..you will spend more time arguing with staff than enjoying your vacation.

Shopping hint

Do not buy items off the Beach Vendors these are not real silver. Go to Mercado 28, of the path a bit $30.00 Cab ride, but you will get the best for your money). Buy Silver by the weight not how nice an shiney it looks.

Our stay June 2009

Would not recommend Sat, Jul 4, 2009
We arrived around 12:30 pm did not get our room till 4:30. The staff could not seem to waiver or be accomadating,it seemed they did their job and nothing more. We traveled with other couples and they had a hard time seating us together in the restaurants because it wasn't the norm. I guess it was to hard for them to figure out to put a couple of tables together. We arrived at the french restaurant and two of the men in our group were wearing NICE shorts but they were told they wouldn't seat them ,so they went change to long pants. Yet while we were eating they let young girls in SHORT shorts,TUBE tops and flip flops. Didn't make any sense to us !! It was HOT in most of the resort. They way it is designed is to be open and airy but the only place that was comfortable was the lobby. The air conditioning in the room was not programmable it was set and could not be moved. The A/C was NOT working most of the time. On our last night there they finally moved us into another room at 2am. The food was so so nothing great the french restaurant was better. The Elite Restaurant was very nice and good food. The beach was very rocky, big rocks. If you wanted to enjoy the beach you had to go somewhere else.

Good Trip Overall

Would recommend Sat, Jul 4, 2009
Overall a good trip. Nice rooms, very good service, whole resort very clean & well kept. All food was very good & fresh. A good value for all inclusive. The 2 negatives for us were the very small beach area with no huts or palm trees, the beach is all sharp rocks - totally un-swimable. 2nd, very family oriented with rides & such, alot of kids. Were a couple traveling alone, it was a bit noisy with children.

Depends on what you are looking for.

It wasn't the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but it sure wasn't bad. A family hotel, it can be a little loud. There were little maintenance things that needed to be taken care of, but the service was great. Staff was very friendly, price was great and all inclusive, how can you complain. Thinking of sending my in-laws there for a few days.(I LIKE my in-laws)

Dining

Go to the french place(can't remember the name) and Big Ben to eat. Remember the french place requires long pants and closed shoes.

Would recommend Fri, Jul 3, 2009
Stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every moment. Great food, pool, and atmosphere. The room was large and the A/C was perfect. The restaurants were great. The bars throughout the resort were available with very friendly staff. The pool bartender was awesome! I will recommend this resort to all my friends. Great price. Great pool !!!!

Shopping hint

Bus stop in front of hotel, paid 7.50 Mex Pesos (60cents) to ride 15 mins downtown. Very easy and convenient.

Great place to stay. Great service.

Would recommend Fri, Jul 3, 2009
First class all way. Waiters, food, rooms, shops, pools were all fantastic. My adult son and I travel a couple of times a year and the Great Parnassus would be tough to beat and the price was more than worth the stay.

Dining

If you are a small eater or on diet, stay home or go somewhere else. These folks know how to lay out some fine groceries.

Our honeymoon

Would recommend Fri, Jun 26, 2009
In the pictures of the hotel ocean front, it doesn't show that there are any rocks. There are TONS of big rocks. I know because I fell on them and got bruises.

Shopping hint

the bus is the cheapest way to get around cancun. It's only .75 pp to ride. Market 28 is the best and cheapest market to buy all your gifts to take back home.
