The HONEST truth!

This hotel is very big and you loose personalization. Staff is UNFRIENDLY at best. We were a party with 3 rooms and all experienced the same problems. Some of the rooms did not get serviced for over a day. No new towels, beds made, floors cleaned. By the end of the trip, our room smelt of a rotten eggs and the sewer due to no water being put down the main floor trap in the room. Room service took almost 2 hours to get to you. People ran through halls screaming, banging doors, walls, etc. at 4:30a (when coming back from bars) and noone stopped them. Vomit in stairwells. Elevators SLOW. Rude staff. Pools closed at 6p. Food is HORRIBLE!! Pools are not cleaned, found feces in the main pool. Beautiful beach, but is has such a strong current, that going in the water is not advised. Cancun is such a beautiful area and this hotel does not do justice. We have travelled many times to Mexico, and this was the WORST!! Staying in a different hotel would have made the trip better. THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!!!!!

Take the public bus system into downtown Cancun. Cost is about .75 per person as oppossed to a $20/USD cab fair. Be sure to have pesos in hand, exact change, none will be given on the bus.

POOL IS GREAT NOT TOO DEEP ABOUT 4 FT. SO GREAT FOR KIDS AND MAJORITY OF THE POOL AREA GETS PLENTY OF SHADE AFTER 3PM SO NICE AND COOL AND RELAXING. THE PICTURES OF THE POOL ON THE HOTEL WEBSITE ARE TRUE...YOU CAN SEE THE OCEAN FROM ALL 3 POOLS AND HOT TUB. GREAT GREAT FAMILY PLACE AND ALL INDOOR SO VERY NICE AND OPEN. I LOVED THE FACT YOU DID NOT NEED A LIGHT SWEATER IN THE EVENING BEACAUSE THE HOTEL'S LOBBY AREA IS OPEN SO EVERYTHING IS EVEN TEMPREATURE. AFTER SWIMMING YOU GO INSIDE TO EAT YOU ARE NOT FREEZING!!!! WE WENT IN A GROUP AND I WOULD USE THIS HOTEL AGAIN. THE ONLY THING IS I WOULD NOT BOOK AN EARLY FLIGHT ARRIVAL INTO CANCUN BECAUSE THEY REALLY DO NOT HAVE ROOMS READY UNTIL 3PM. WE ARRIVED AT 11:30 AND WE HAD ASKED MONTH IN ADVANCE TO HAVE 3 ROOMS READY FOR US BUT STILL THEY COULD NOT ACCOMODATE THAT.

Bad experience to Great Parnassus

The Great Parnassus was not the resort for us.Two main problems occured which really ruined the resort experience for us.First off we got stuck in the elevator the first night there May 3rd for thirty minutes. It was very hot and a small cramped place for two couples. Our wives where very worried. They had to pry the doors open and we had to jump down about three feet. This really worried us and made a bad first impression. The only compensation they did was to move us away from that elevator to a room that had a bigger closet, no beach view, leaking shower and a non working hot tub. ----The second main thing that happened was that we got food poising either by bad water in a drink or food that caused us to throw up the whole next day. No!!!!! this was not related to too much alcohol which they tried to say might have been the problem and offended us. The little details that bothered us - the food for the most part was buffet quality or below, with only a few exceptions.the other was that there where way more young loud children then our age group. Looking back I would have stayed at the sister resort the Golden Parnassus Adults only. We went to the pool two days and it was much nicer and relaxing.I do expect the resort to compensate us which I do not feel they did!!! If they would like to give us free nights at the Golden Parnassus this would be acceptable. [...]

Good but not the VIP we Purchased

We were in a VIP Suite however we were not treated like a VIP Customer when we arrived. Waited hours to get our room and all the VIP stuff was never corrected. Everything at the hotel was great except for the front desk service and we got tired of people stopping us to sell us stuff!
