Cancun-area beach resort with daily activities, nightly entertainment

The posh, all-inclusive Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe is 30 minutes from Cancun. The resort has four restaurants, snack bar and pizza counter, plus three bars and a fully equipped gym and spa. Gracious guest rooms, some with ocean views, have 24-hour room service and stocked mini bars. A daily activities program, non-motorized water sports at a nearby marina and live nightly entertainment provide action-packed options. El Oriental
Located in the Hotel's Central Building, beside the Lobby Bar. Built on three different levels, it has a capacity for 140 diners. Its decoration looks like the interior of a tropical garden, with hanging plants and a central column down which a water curtain falls. Service at the Oriental Restaurant comes from its own kitchen, which acts as a satellite of the main kitchen which it is interconnected. This Restaurant only offers a la carte service with typical oriental cuisine dishes. Service exclusively for guests above 12 years old. Dress code is required.

This bar has a unique design with furniture and decoration which make it very welcoming, complemented by some graphic and artistic elements linking it with jazz culture. should be 1 star hotel

I have been to Cancun before and have never witnessed this lack of service and hospitality by hotel staff..including managers. When we first arrived and had requested a room with double beds way in advance they let us know that now the ONLY way to get a double bed room was to PAY per night an additional fee for a room upgrade. They said they "sell the rooms...not the number of beds in the room". After agreeing to be "upgraded" we were put in a tower nowhere near the main area or main restaurant...only to find out that the balcony door was broken and would take a repair man coming back multiple times over a course of 2 days to fix. Once we finally settled in we tried to make reservations to dinner only to find out everything has been completely booked. What we eventually learned is that "completely booked" only means 3 tables per time slot. So the restaurants were ALWAYS empty and they clearly want you to ONLY eat at the buffet. Plus this resort has a chips and salsa but offers NO guacamole. Who goes to Mexico and doesn't have guacamole while they are down there! Also,,,don't plan on going to lay on the beach unless you want to wake up at 6 am to reserve one of the 20 lounge chairs they have on the beach for the ENTIRE resort to use. While the hotels on either side of us had rows of lounge chairs for their guests. Also don't expect waitress service on the beach. If you want a drink you have to walk back up to the pool bar to get it yourself. As one of the managers told us "we don't offer beach service". Lastly...if you show up more than 10 minutes late for a dinner reservation prepare to be "scolded" by an extremely nasty restaurant manager about being late and our reservation was considered to be cancelled because of that. As women in heels that were staying in a tower that was further from the restaurant and the restaurant being 75 empty...the manager had NO right to speak or treat us the way he did. After arguing for over 10 mins with him...he finally agreed to let us eat there and acted like he was doing us a favor letting us eat in an empty restaurant. What a memorable last night dining experience. Everyone we spoke to besides one manager was VERY rude to us and had NO hospitality skills. I'm really not sure how this hotel actually got a 4 star rating but there are so many hotels in Cancun along this strip that I would never come back here and give them any of my money again. And I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone else I know.

Great trip until the end. Manager does not care about safety.

This hotel has great amenities, rooms, and grounds for the price. The food was good for the most part, but the sushi from the Japanese restaurant made me sick (I should have known not to eat it when it came to me warm). The biggest problem is that the hotel management does not care about the safety of their guests. I had the same elevator fall from the 5 to 2 floor, which I reported to the front desk. I was assured that the problem would be taken care of. The next day, the same thing happened again. I spoke to the front desk again and the assured me the problem would be fixed and the manager would speak to me when in came in the morning. He never attempted to contact me, so upon checkout I asked to speak to him. He accused me of fabricating the story and threatened to call the police if I did not leave, as it was upsetting to other guests checking in for them to hear of my supposed fabricated story. Furthermore, upon checking out the receptionist was using very offensive language about me to her coworkers, in Spanish which she thought I did not understand. Even though the place overall was beautiful and well kept, if you value your safety and do not want to be harassed by the employees do not stay here.

Beautiful Vacation

We loved this resort! It was incredibly clean.the food was delicious and the staff was friendly. The beach is perfect! We went in October so the price was great, we'd definitely stay here again!

Family trip with friends

The staff for the hotel was courteous and friendly. Amenities like towels had complications attached to them. Did cause little bit of discomfort in handling towels. On christmas dinner, did not find options for vegetarians easily. Overall a good experience.

I love Cancun

If you have babies, you should know something about this hotel. They will give a room that stroller can have an access. But the walk made by paddles so every step with stroller is not quite easy. It has four main restaurant except for two snack bars and one cafe. Three out of four does not allow children under 12 to enter. Dont be upset or frustrated though. You have limitation on place to eat not menu to eat. You order food and they will bring food to Cocay restaurant which is only restaurant you can bring your babies. One more thing, Concha restaurant does open during lunch as well as dinner. You can bring babies for lunch time in Concha restaurant. Please be careful some ants may bite you. Please bring itching relief medicine if you need :) You have drugstore and big market 10mins walk away. You can buy most of stuff like us baby formula, fever reliever Tylenol,

Great trip

We went to there with my wife and a baby. It was a good hotel to go. We had an ocean view room, which was a clean and had good view. Staff members were kind and helpful. We tried Italian, Mexican and Japanese restaurant. Italian and Mexican restaurants were great. Although the Japanese restaurant was not good, honestly, no complaints overall.

Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe

this hotel exceeded our expectations. The service was awesome.The entire staff waiters, reception, entertainment and room service was exceptional. The food in the 3 restaurants was delicious. Everyone working there did their best to make our stay very enjoyable.

Dining tip: In Hotel

this hotel requires reservations for the 3 restaurants. You can only make the reservations between 9 am and 2 pm daily. I suggest you get to the reservation desk as soon as you can after you arrive. You can make reservations for 3 days in advance. Kids under 112 are not allowed to eat at the 2 restaurants. For the days you do not have a reservation, you can eat at the buffet, no reservations necessary. They change the menu nightly. they have a delicious pizza bar, poolside snack bar and many bars with unlimited drinks. They have a separate no kids pool which was great. Daily activities were fun. the nightly entertainment was good.
