Great getaway for adults, but 2 of the 3 restaurants require long pants for men.
This hotel was very beautiful and was a great getaway for my husband and myself. However, two of the three restaurants require proper attire (long pants for men, and skirts or slacks for women). Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but with the heat and humidity, my husband didn't even consider packing pants, so we were out of luck. The other restaurant and breakfast area were exceptional, as was the poolside service. We also were put in a room with two full size beds rather than one king, and a king wasn't available. It was fine with us though. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we slept great. Cancun itself is very commercialized though, with lots of American chain restaurants. I was a little dissapointed that there weren't as many original restaurants as I hoped. I would definitely take pants next time, so we could try the hotels other two restaurants.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
There are several bars and restaurants for dancing if that is your thing. There are also shopping malls a short taxi ride away. Steer clear of the Mexican Flea Market. They take advantage of tourists, and most items can be found cheaper in the local stores.

Excellent service
The staff and service was amazing. Staff is extremely respectful and nice. Excellent location next to shopping and restaurants. Concierge was also extremely helpful. TV was good with a lot of US channels. Heated swimming pool is perfect. I did not like the food or drinks. Mattress is very uncomfortable.

Great hotel for romance or family
The Fiesta Americana Coral Gables was truly a 5 star hotel. The room was very comfortable and kept up with very nicely during our stay. The hotel staff was very helpful and polite. The pool and bar area were beautiful and meticuously kept and mantained. The fresh flower arrangments were magnificient in the lobby area and changed out every other day. I did not get a chance to enjoy the Spa but if I return, it will be at the top of my list.

I felt like most of the food in the hotel and in the area was expensive and not at the top of my dining experiences. Most of the resterants were very busy becasue of spring break, that may have been one of the reasons.

Great vacation
The Fiesta Americana Coral Beach was fantastic! I like the location and the rooms. The beach was very nice and the staff is always willing to help you. The restaurants in the hotel is expensive but we went to Walmart and bought water, and snacks. You can splurge one or two days but it is expensive to eat there. I tried VIPS for dinner, big mistake. Maybe is good for breakfast but not for dinner. The hotel staff told us the wrong information when we tried to go to Cozumel on our own. To go to Cozumel, I advice to take a cab directly to the ferry. We took the bus in front of the hotel and they told us that would take us there but it didn't. We ended getting lost in the town. Keep in mind that if you go to Cozumel that the last ferry out of the island is the 10:00 pm and there is no ferry service at 9:00 pm so we got stuck there until 10:00 pm. The only thing we didn't like was that there was a convention for the Americas and they installed in the hotel security and scanner machines like the ones the use in the airports. There were security all over the hotel and they would check your bags every time you enter the hotel. This lasted two days but it was very inconvenient. Overall, I loved the hotel and I would stay there again.

Fiesta Americana-Grand Indeed
The Fiesta Americana is a Grand hotel indeed. Overall, the facilities are first rate as is the staff. The hotel bills itself as a five diamond hotel and for the most part, it is. On our last visit, however, we were somewhat disappointed with the erratic maid service.

Shopping, dining, nightlife, and entertainment are a short walk away. The bus is most convenient and there is an endless line of taxis awaiting to take you anywhere. The hotel offers its own nightly piano bar. The restaurants are first rate though a bit pricy.

Staff is amazing. Hotel is beautiful. Pool and swim up bar were very nice.
Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Hotel has an amazingly attentive staff. We found the Grand Club benefits to be alright The continental breakfasts and hors d oeuvers were not great! Beds were a bit hard but not terrible. We found the travel agency in the hotel to be unknowledgable about excursions. We went to Xel Ha and hated it. The food @ the restaurants there was unfit to eat. Snorkeling was not good there either. Just ruined by too many tourists!!!! Tulum, however was beautiful and very interesting. We enjoyed our stay @ The Fiesta Americana!!!!
