Hotel was nice food was awful!
The hotel and staff were both very nice but the food was awful. There was nothing That tasted good an out of all the 10 restaurants listed only 1/2 are open at a time. You only have 2 choices of places for breakfast both were below average on taste. They served plenty of cheap liquor. Absolute and then everything else was the same no name brand. As for activities. There were none. Anything they offered you needed to take a cab to a marina an then a boat to your destination. It's also all couples. So If your into sitting pool side starving then this is your spot!

Great vacation get away
This was a great couples get away, we were celebrating our 31st anniversary and it was a great get away. We attended the circus night show at the theater which was enjoyable and a great show. The beach area was so nice and the pools were great. We did go to the large flea market 28 and it was not worth the time. We got all our gifts to take home at the hotel store as the prices were affordable better then at the market.

Relaxing in luxury
The experience couldn't have been better. The staff was very friendly and attentive. From the moment you arrive you are treated with personal service. The food in the restaurants was excellent and the drinks were top shelf.

Best resort EVER!
Almost everything we can say about this place has already been said! This was the best resort we have EVER stayed at. The only thing we would have changed is the amount of adult beverages we had the first few days!

Still the best
My 2nd time staying at Excellence. The staff, food and service is bar-none for the area. If you want complete relaxation with every whim catered for you, this is the place. The quality of the food is very high with lots of better than average alcohol choices.

Dining at the resort is great, but there is one caveat. Some of the restaurants intentionally bring the food slowly and the portions are relatively small. However, you can get as much as you like ala cart. Know this if you are hungry. This is particularly true for the French and Spice restaurant.

Wow even better then the pictures
Great hotel, great couples environment, rooms were impressive, pools, beach and grounds were first rate. Multiple restaurants, pools, bars, activities and nightly entertainment, there is no reason to leave the resort. If you want to be in the center of the Cancun action this might not be your place but if you are looking for a secluded tropical paradise then you have found it.

There are so many great restaurants you can't get to all of them in a single week, so plan ahead and review menus so you can choose your favorites. We had a pot of coffee delivered every morning to the room to start our day

Tired Teacher who needed some down time
Great Place for a Romantic Getaway
From the moment we arrived the hospitality and service was far better than we expected. The entire staff was friendly, polite and willing to help you in any way possible. Our room was on the 2nd floor close to the main "hot spot" for the evening. Even if we didn't want to see the show or the band we could always hear them from our room with the patio door open. Once we got there we didn't want to leave. The food was fantastic and we never had to wait to be seated (maybe because we ate dinner before 7:30 each night). Our favorite restaurant was The Agave, which we made a return visit on our last night. We didn't even go to all the restaurants, however, the variety wasn't a problem. The only issues we had were trying to find an area to relax by the pool with an umbrella pallopa. People put towels and their personal belongings on the chairs and didn't always use them. We had to get up before 7:00 am to just put our stuff out so we had a spot. Overall, everything was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone who wants to be pampered and relax.

Experienced Road Warrior
No such thing as perfection
The good: We will be back at this hotel and we would highly recommend this hotel to others. The bad: 1) The pillows were small and lumpy 2) I almost fell daily - there were some close moments in wet and dry areas around the hotel that were slippery; be careful. 3) We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and they did not give us the anniversary package because we were not within the the timeframe they allowed. Our anniversary was in March and we traveled in April (not everyone is able to travel on the the exact date). We did bring a copy of our marraige certificate, but it was pointless. It was really annoying when we ran into a another couple that were celebrating their 7 month anniversary of DATING and they recieved the anniversary package!!! Really??? Also, I never read about the disclaimer of the dates (+/-) 7 days of your "anniversary/wedding" to recieve the special package. We did not know about this until we arrived. We were disappointed.
