Wonderful anniversary getaway

We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and just wanted to relax - no tours, no shopping, just relaxing at the ... resort. The rooms and the double jacuzzis are fantastic. We went to the fitness center and played tennis every day and the facilities are great. The rest of the time was spent in the pool and at the pool bar - great drinks and great service. We ate at each of the restaurants and all were good, but the Japanese was our favorite and the food was fantastic. They also have nightly entertainment and the shows were great. The Michael Jackson impersonator and dancers were awesome. Very friendly staff with great service.

Unless you are interested in purchasing a time share, avoid the celebration breakfast - it will just steal 90 minutes of your valuable vacation. We signed up and said we would attend just so they would leave us alone, but had no intention of going. They called the room once after that to remind us that we had missed it and tried to get us to reschedule. We politely declined.

Top Notch All Inclusive!
Elaine & Mark Nov 17, 2009
Even tho we were unlucky enough to arrive at the Cancun Palace just days before Hurricane Ida threatened to hit that part of ... Mexico, we were very impressed with the accommodations and service. During the storm (hurricane itself skirted Cancun but rain and wind were enough to keep everyone indoors), the hotel staff did their best to make every one's stay as nice as could be, under the circumstances. The rooms (we had ocean view, concierge level) were very nice and the housekeeping staff was on the ball with all of our requests. The same goes for room service. Several times we ordered beverages and they arrived within minutes of hanging up the phone. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Great Accommodations in Cancun
I'm 40 Nov 16, 2009
We had a wonderful stay at the Cancun Palace Resort. The staff was very accommodating and tended to our needs. There were ... many dining options. The food was great at all the restaurants. I have been at an all inclusive resort before, but I had to get up to get my drinks. At Cancun Palace, the wait staff was always around to serve you whatever drinks you wanted. Everything was very clean and we constantly saw staff polishing, sweeping and buffing the floors and other areas of the resort. The only disappointment was that there was barely a beach and the stairs to access the beach were actually roped off for part of our stay.

Great Service and Location
Jersey Tomatoe Nov 13, 2009
Cancun Palace was spotless, the staff friendly and service great. The hotel property is not large, but ample and set up ... well. We had an All-Inclusive package. The hotel has great food, good variety and if you don't see what you want, just ask. The hotel is compact so if you really need to stretch out, walk on the beautiful beach, try the fitness center or tennis courts. We took a walk up the road and enjoyed the neighboring hotel's gardens. Then there are the tours, which any employee of the hotel will gladly assist you with. Note: Palace Hotels allow All-Inclusive guests to enjoy their sister hotels. Beach Palace and Sun Palace are a short bus/taxi ride up the road. Each hotel has a different feel, so you get quick access to a variety of entertainment options. We both have ear issues, serious ringing, almost every restaurant is too loud for us, even at home. The staff was so understanding and found quite spots in the dining areas for us to enjoy our meals. The music at the pool is loud, if you are anywhere near the speakers. There are plenty of seats on the other side of the pool and a covered patio, deck and bar on the beach. Which was great for us. This was a great vacation. We have stayed at Moon Palace - Loved it, but no beach. Then at Excellence we had moldy room issues. Any hotel near the beach in Cancun can have smelly room issues. It rained for several days and some parts of the hotel and our clothes closet, began to get a little musty. I wonder why.... Jacuzzi Suites perhaps... Oh, if the idiots from Rm 612 is reading, When the water runs on the floor, the tub is full! Again, the staff was quick to respond and resolve the situation. We love the ocean, there was a tropical storm (IDA) which kicked up some great waves for body surfing. We had a rare siting of migrating snowy white owls one night. It was a great vacation.

Cancun Palace All Inclusive Information
4 Timer Cancun Oct 16, 2009
First - make sure to get all inclusive - it rocks food is great and it is well worth the money. The Hotel Service is ... impeccable - its really top notch. Make sure to take a stack of 20 and 50 peso bills for tips. The staff really work hard and they deserve to get tips - dont be a stingy dork lol - 50 pesos is roughly 4 bucks. So if you tip everybody 1-1/2 to 4 bucks it will cost you $100 US at most for whole trip. The cool thing about staying at a Palace resort and getting all inclusive is you can wander to the other hotels - and eat and hang out. This is really, really cool - it give you like 15 - nice places to eat and they are spread out so its convenient. Example you are at Cancun Palace and go to mall area, or night club area: just wander over to Beach Palace eat - rest up and then get back to business. There are shuttles to the Moon Palace (the quieter more isolated one) if you want to check out their beach and cuisine - leaves at 11am and comes back at 5pm. All the beaches are really nice at all hotels. If your a partier - I would recommend beach Palace - closets to all night clubs. Makes getting home at 2am in druken stupor easy you can walk - just stay out of street - you'll get hit by taxi or worse a bus. Though I think buses quit at around midnight. Not trying to diss the Moon but if you like to wander away from the beach I like staying in the strip area Cancun, Beach or Sun Palace. The Moon is extremely nice and more resortie place - good for lovie-dovie stuff. Make sure to ride the bus - its cool cost 7.5 pesos and goes all the way up strip into town and back down. Best bang for buck. Course if its 100 degrees and 90% humidity - taxi is definitely worth the money and saves a little time. Also the all inclusive includes ETOH - yes alcohol - its generic stuff - not the best but I thought it was great. The martinis at dinner were awesome. If your a heavy drinker youll make money off this lol. You eat and get a little hammered before you wander off to the clubs. Rule # 1 wear some sunscreen ALWAYS and reapply after water. You will blister - that sun is different down there - its brutal. I know everybody wants to get tan - but if you burn you will be miserable the rest of your trip. Im half Mexican (point being have a little sun resistance - ie color) - trust me on this - the sun is brutal there. Remember one time spent a month in tanning bed before going - about 8 sessions - still blistered see the tanning bed does not get the tops of your shoulders very well. WEAR SUNSCREEN !!! You will not regret it when you see the miserable idiots who didnt lol SPF 40 or higher works well. Shuttle from hotel is worth the cost. You may just opt to take taxi to airport even if you pay for shuttle its $21 US if you get in time crunch. You can only take certain taxis or shuttles from airport to hotel - they cost a lot more $20 to $50 US - cause they have to pay for the bribes in order to be exclusive for this service. I would reccomend paying for shuttle included with your hotel - its worth it. I give Cancun Palace a very solid 4 to 4 1/2 stars on 5 point scale - Im sure there are better but you will be hard pressed to find for the money you spend. Enjoy

Spent days at the pool, participated in organized volleyball, ate and drank quite often. Visits to other chain resorts are ... nice with free transportation. A bit far from shopping areas, but easily accesible by public bus (24 hours service, costs about $0.70 USD per person per trip). I did not care for the pressure to become an annual time share owner as soon as I arrived, but was able decline the offer easy enough.

Will not stay there again too many other fine choices to chose from in Cancun!

This vacation was great. The hotel was beautiful and staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was one of my favorite ... areas of the hotel. If shopping at the flea markets or market 28 never pay the first price they give you as the prices are increased by over 200%. We seemed to get the best deals when we were the ones telling them how much we had and what we were willing to pay. They could then take it or leave it as there is always someone else that is willing to give you the price you want.

Go check out downtown via bus. Just don't take the bus at the beginning or ending of a typical shift; the buses are jammed. Ask staff which market to visit and which bus lines to take.
--The Traveling Hartmans, Livermore, CA Aug 1, 2009
I found out the hard way the hotel offers cheaper prices. Because in the shopping malls and markets they see tourist and they jack up the prices. The jewelry was cheaper at the hotel and the t shirts were real reasonable. Look at the prices at the hotel first then just compare.
--Trish, George West, Texas Jul 30, 2009
As noted elsewhere, Palace shops have your standard souviners no more than, and probably cheaper than any of the markets outside the resort. You might get a better deal at the Walmart downtown, but that depends on your idea of fun.
