Nice if you enjoy all inclusive

This was a very nice hotel. We personally are much more back packer type travelers and the all inclusive resort style was a bit much for us. We traveled here for a wedding and were happy to be here with friends. Rooms were beautiful! We would have enjoyed more "Mexican" cuisine for being in Mexico with our inclusive food, seemed to be very Americanized food, which is fine but never saw a tortilla while we were in Cancun. Beach was beautiful, pool was very comfortable to hang out around, all amenities were available. It is a happy medium for travelers in this location though- hotel provided "entertainment" during the day (volleyball, salsa lessons, etc) which they offer so they have to do otherwise people would complain it wasn't available, but I personally would prefer if I wasn't being asked to participate over and over and just enjoy the sun. As mentioned, we would have wanted more traditional Mexico and know that Cancun is not that, but did enjoy it for the reason's we were there, the wedding.

Head off the hotel zone to downtown Cancun to get some tacos from the local taco stands, very delicious and very inexpensive.

Wonderful experience

Overall experience at the Beach Palace was fantastic. Check-in was easy and the staff was very helpful in giving us an overview of the hotel. Our room was very clean, had plenty of space, and even though we didn't upgrade from the lagoon view, we still had a very nice view from our balcony (which is huge and includes a table/chairs and couch to lounge on). The facilities themselves are gorgeous with two large pools, plus a pool on the roof, multiple bars, and large private beach area. We never had difficulty finding a place to sit outside and never had a long wait for a drink or service. The buffet restaurant was fantastic as were the formal sit-down restaurants and we enjoyed all of the food. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and we would definitely return if back in Cancun.

Winter getaway

This is our second visit to Beach Palace. We really enjoy it. The service is wonderful. The staff make a point to get to know you and what you prefer. We particularly appreciate the pool waite staff. Our main goal is relaxation and we got it. Nightly entertainment was good. I would like to see greater use of the entertainment area off the sports bar, even if it was a piano bar or soft music to relax and have a drink. The restaurants were very good, but would like one with sandwich and snack options later in the evening after the pool restaurant closes. Overall we love it and will return.

Wonderful staff!

My husband and I and our friends absolutely loved Beach Palace! The staff were outstanding and I felt riculously spoiled the entire trip. They could not have been any friendlier! The hotel and beach are beautiful and luxurious. We maximized the $1500 credit by visiting Chichen Itza, Extreme Kingdom and the spa and having a romantic dinner and pictures taken of our group. Food wasn't outstanding but still very good and we enjoyed a steak dinner at Cancun Palace one night. Left the kids with grandma this trip but they would have had a great time here as well. Would highly recommend!

Fell short of our expectations

Two couples visited the Beach Palace for New Years Eve. Overall we enjoyed our trip, but after reading so many glowing reviews of the hotel, we were disappointed overall. We booked concierge level ocean view rooms. We will start with the pros - The rooms, pool and beach are beautiful. For the most part, the service was friendly and courteous. The drinks and bar service were exceptional. The ladies really enjoyed the massages at the Spa. The cons - The check-in was slow and tedious. The process of booking our tours and the hard-sell on the 'presentation' (time share) was a total waste of valuable vacation time. We found some of the food, especially at the Wok to be good, but some was inedible, especially the steak and lobster at the New Year's Eve gala. We were very disappointed in the Isla Mujeres 'tour' which really was just a boat ride to the island were they had the opportunity to sell you 'swim with the dophins' and snorkling. We would try a different hotel if we return.

Love Palace Resorts

We spent 4 nights first at the Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen in a Jacuzzi Suite and 3 nights at the Beach Palace in a Presidential Suite. These hotels were impressive overall and incredibly great values. The Jacuzzi Suite at Playacar was very nicely appointed but the Presidential Suite at the Beach Palace was spectacular. Both hotels had exceptional service, both hotels are extremely well maintained and beautiful. The Beach Palace is nearly brand new and beautiful. Although the Playacar Palace is older, it is more elegant in some respects, and more initimate. The dining was slightly better at the Playacar Palace than Beach Palace. We also had one dinner in the Carribean Restaurant at the Moon Palace, and had a buffet lunch at the Aventura Palace, which were both very good as well. So, we experienced 4 of the Palace Hotel/Resorts in Cancun/Riveira Maya this trip. The level of service at all these hotels was exceptional, the facilities were exceptional, the Spa at Aventura was the best we experienced (did not do spa at Moon Palace). The food seemed to be slightly better at Playacar, although each resort has multiple restaurants and similar cuisine. The Asian restaurants were disappointing and the least interesting or tasty at both Playacar and Beach Palace. The breakfast at Playacar was better than at the Beach Palace. One nice feature of the Playacar Palace is that it is in Playa del Carmen, a few blocks from the cool shopping area...a plus! Although the food was plentiful and very fresh and tasty and was actually slightly better than other all inclusive resorts we've been to, it was not quite up the level of other services, facilities, and amenities at these Palace resorts. However, this is a minor ding in an otherwise exceptional vacation.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Xplore is a fabulous them park near Playa del Carmen, well worth the cost. It includes hours of zip line experiences, undeground caves that you paddle and/or swim through, etc.
