Lush palm trees dot the Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa Los Cabos grounds near the expansive outdoor pool, whose showpiece is Willy the Whale, a giant water slide that has been completely refinished with litmus stones. Very family friendly
The hotel is massive, and crowded. The staff was friendly. The food was good but very expenssive. the location was away from town, although the it's small town, it takes about a 15 minutes walk to get there or $7 if you take a taxi. The rooms are clean and comfortable. it's located a walking distance from the beach,it's not the greatest beach I've been to, too many water crafts, boats, waverunners..etc to a point where you can smell fumes it can be irritating. you need to drive away and out of town if you looking for a nice and quiet beach. The pacific side is much nicer than the sea of cortez. it has two big swiming pools, they're clean but crowded. They will charge $5 for a can of soda if you consume drinks from the room. I suggest to go to a store and some shopping and don't consume anything in the room, it's a rip off. There is a small grocery store, and a deli cross the street, it has everything you need, including internet. you will get bombarded by the time share sales people, they'll offer bunch of perks to show up to the presentation, try to get as much out of them, even cash. overall it was nice for the price we paid to stay there.

alright for the price
villa del palmar was in a descent location from downtown ($7 cab ride). a perk of the location was the immediate accesibility of the beach. the food was descent but definitely worthwhile to check out restaurants downtown. the spa was great (really talented massage therapists) the room was really large and balcony faced the beach though there was some construction going on. regardless cabo is beautiful!!!

Selling condos!
The place is over-priced for the quality of service. I had to insist to have a room that would not be overlooking the parking lot on the ground floor. And then wherever you walk, sales people try hard to sell you condos... I love the beach though.

Staff was pushy and unhelpful
We had problems with the staff at the hotel. The issue was with the VIP desk staff in the lobby ... They kept trying to get us to buy a gold card (good for some discounts, but it seemed too expensive to be worth it), and to attend a free breakfast (with a short presentation about timeshares). We explained multiple times that we were not interested in either, and asked them to stop bothering us, but they were very pushy and kept calling us, leaving notes under our door, and stopping us in the lobby to try to talk to us. They were extremaly pushy, and in some cases downright rude. The location is beautiful, and the hotel itself is nice - but the hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. I would recommend instead staying at one of the many other equally nice hotels nearby, with friendlier staff.

Great value for your money!
The Villa del Palmar overall was a great experience! Great food and nightly activities and at a great price. Location was pretty good...20 minute walk to downtown Cabo and $7 dollar cab ride (US). Skip the timeshare presentation but get the Gold card if you can great discounts! We also found the bed to be way too hard but were please with the room size, cleanliness etc. I'd definately go back!

Great Location
The location of this hotel is perfect! Within walking distance of marina, great views (provided there are no cruise ships), beautiful beach, etc... I did not have an ocean view but the balcony was perfect at night as the sun set and it blocked the wind.

Short walk from hotel
I do not recommend signing up for the meal plan. While the food was wonderful, there are limited options and not worth $90/person/day - particularly, if you want to experience all of Cabo. It would probably be worth the $ if you are going to drink a lot of alcohol.

Pretty nice hotel....
The Villa Del Palmar is part of 3 facilities, the other two are time shares. Be prepared to be accosted by the time share people the entire time you are there to sit through the 75 minute presentation. We ended up doing it, it was fine, and got some nice freebies from it, but the whole process could be annoying if you are not prepared for it. The room was older, and the beds were uncomfortable. Our room was off the lobby, so was very loud. Other than that, the place was quite nice, the pool is good, has a nice beach, and the hotel food was quite good. For the price, this hotel was nice, and the location was excellent, allowing us access to the beach bars and the ability to walk to the downtown area.

Everything is close to this hotel. A short walk or $7 cab ride gets you downtown to restaurants, boat tours, nighlife and shopping. Probably one of the best locations in Cabo.

Great Location, Clean, busy
We were very pleased with the cleanliness and the service at Villa Del Palmar hotel. Our room was kept comfortable. We only ate at the hotel two times, but each time were excellent. The service was great, we did not have to wait long for any request, and I felt as though they really were trying to make our stay comfortable. We were not pushed into listening to the sales pitch on the timeshare, which to us, was great. The pools were okay, just really too busy for our tastes. We like to be able to enjoy peace and quite by the beach or pool.
