Honeymoon week

The hotel is very clean and the grounds were perfect. The pool fills up fast in the morning and there are limited chairs. The beach is clean and the water is perfect. However there are many "beach vendors" selling junk and they pester you constantly !!! We decided to walk down to the public area of the beach near the harbor. It was much more private and no vendors to deal with. The air conditioner did not work at all. It makes noise and blows air but not cold at all. We just left the doors open and the breeze was good enough.

FAMILY VACATION

THE ROOMS WERE NICE. I STAYED IN BOTH THE ROSE AND BLANCO. I THOUGHT ROSE WAS WAY BETTER AND UPDATED. BLANCO HAD THE BETTER BALCONY VIEW BUT WAS OUTDATED. THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE BUT SOMETIMES GOT TO BUSY. THE LADIES AT THE FRONT DESK WERE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL

Getting a little run down

We stayed in a junior suite prior to moving to the presidential suite. It was so run down, it was embarassing. The mirror in the bathroom had a huge crack in it, the vanity had a large piece that had been broken off it, there was water damage and mold that had been painted over and was bubbling up, and the knobs on the stove were stripped, so you couldn't tell what was high or low. A lot of tiles in the pool were broken off. It is just getting a bit much.

The best new restaurant around is the one at the new Hacienda hotel at the end of the beach, right next to the Marina. The food is great, reasonable, and the hotel and the view are breathtaking. Fellini's at the Rose is also very good.

relaxing vacation

The pool, spa, bar and restaurant areas were wonderful. Bellman and reception were helpful. The area was quiet and peaceful - close to town and good restaurants. The room was another story. The blender and toaster didn't work - they replaced the blender - I gave up the use of the toaster. There was a leak in the ceiling that dripped water in two areas. They fixed the water but left the 2 holes in the ceiling. The toilet handle broke and had to be replaced. The A/C was hit and miss and would just shut off at times. Housekeeping didn't come several days until late in the afternoon. So if you were at the pool, spa, bar or restaurant it was lovely - the upkeep on the rooms was poor and I would think 2 or 3 times before I would go back to the Rose because of that.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Buy your "snacks/light food" at the mercado in town. Rent a car - it is easy to drive in Cabo - parking is ugly but you can usually find something. Go into town to eat - it is cheaper than the hotel and beaches. Lots of things to do just a short drive away but taxis get expensive.

Nothing Special

This was my second trip to Cabo. I stayed at the Marina last time and found the staff at the other hotel to be way more friendly and helpful when it came to simple things. It was touch and go at Pueblo Bonito Rose. You would have an amazing server one day and then the next day you wouldn't even be acknowledged. We called for ice one night and were told it would be 20 minutes and they never showed up with it. The next night our toilet stopped working and we had to wait around for an hour to have that fixed. The third night our ceiling started leaking because of the air conditioner. That was another hour spent waiting for them to come and fix it. We would leave our room and return in the evening to find that no maid service had occured. The plus was that the location allowed you to walk right out to the beach and into town. The hotel itself is beautiful, but food and drinks are not cheap.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If you walk the beach or around the marina you can work a deal for a cheaper dinner since there is a lot of competition. Lots of times they will throw in free drinks and so forth.

Great location, nice beach and pool

This resort was very nice as far as location, beach, pool. Food was available but it was a little over priced. I like to exercise while on a relaxing vacation and I was VERY dissapointed with the facilities for exercise. They had a nice exercise room but charged $15/day or $7/day after 4:00 pm. I have never stayed at a resort that charged for using the exercise room. I also felt that the help at the spa were not very polite.

Ist Time...

This was our first time to Cabo San Lucas,I have to say I was quite shocked at how many peddlers were on the beach. Overall the Resort was beautiful,a little older and worn. We did avoid all the Time Share talks, due to the fact, after you check in,dont use the "free drink" voucher, that way they dont get to talk to you!!!!! The air conditioner in the room was loud, otherwise I feel like it was clean and comfortable, the grounds are beautiful and service was good....

From where we stayed. their are several beach front restaurants within walking distance, our favorite was The Office,,,most of them have the same food overall, the resort lunches were great and drinks good....I wasnt crazy over Tobascos. the shopping was too complicated to find, and not good shopping at all....Bus transportation I wouldn't reccommend..

will stay somewhere else next time

The advertising indicated a gym for this hotel which is the reason we chose it but once we arrived we were told that it would be 15 per person per day. Drinks were horrible, made of refined sugar and fat and over charged. Hotel guests were made up of beached whales in their 50's and 60's that could hardly waddle from one end of the complex to another and we were bombarded by loud music and time share and "activities" hosts. On the more positive side the one buffet dinner we ate there as actually very good with fresh veggies and salads. The grounds were also attractive. For the most part, however we did not feel like guests. We did not accept the all inclusive package and were overcharged exhorbitant fees for every possible reason. In return we made a point of supporting local MEXICAN restaurants and businesses. In comparison our 2 vacations at the Excellence hotels near Playa del Carmen were far superior.

Walk into Cabos and North of downtown and get into the mileau. Take a chance and try some of the local restaurants. The patrons are much more genuinely happy to have the business
