Good But Not Quite As Advertised

This is a very nice property, and the beach is generally better than most we've seen in Los Cabos. The sand is even a little more comfortable than you'll likely find at many other resorts in the "corridor." The water here is particularly dangerous with a nasty undertow, but Cabo isn't necessarily the place for swimming in the ocean anyway... Ok, so...there were really only two major issues we had with Pacifica: 1) the staff was entirely too inexperienced for such a "luxury resort." Even for an all-inclusive resort, you're paying no small sum per night here. It should be run appropriately, but you feel as if it's "self-service" anywhere around the pool/beach. We did the "private dinner for two on the beach," and it was practically painful. I've read some reviews here about how the staff isn't friendly/helpful, but I strongly disagree with that. Everyone here is extremely friendly. They just don't all have the right experience for a resort that bills itself in the way Pacifica does; 2) Pacifica boasts a "holistic...peaceful...relaxing...quiet, even Zen-like experience..." like none other. This is what attracted us...it's what we truly needed. During all but our last day, however, there was a group of ~20 or so who'd apparently "reserved" the beach for their own little party with loud rock/rap/trash music with a PA system and all (I loved most of it except for the rap, but it simply didn't belong here). I'm sure this wouldn't have worked without the glass barriers you see separating the pool area from the beach; but, it sucked for anyone on the beach. It rendered the beach beds useless (remember, these cost $30 US per day without a suite). When I questioned the Concierge on this, I was told the resort had moved away from the original Zen concept. I replied that the website and other marketing material had not, and they were surprised (?). The food is mediocre, and others have commented to this same effect...do make sure you're prepared for the difference between the buffet and a reservation (dinner only) at Siempre. While Siempre isn't stellar, it's pretty good (despite any review you may read to the contrary). The roasted baby vegetables are stellar, though, and the tempura fish tacos on the beach are great too--make sure you ask for a side of the habanero sauce (not on the menu). If you want romance, this will be your best bet among all the Pueblo Bonito properties, but there are certainly other options in Los Cabos...not sure we'll return to Pacifica, but it was worth trying. I didn't mention we also did the Citrus Supreme spa package for two. The spa is nice, and the staff there are experienced. I'd say it was a fair value, and we enjoyed it. I'd have given this resort three stars if it weren't for the beauty it has to offer, so I'm going with four stars. Pacifica really does need to put more focus on their pool/beach staff.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

Unless you're already planning to grab a taxi into Cabo for dinner (e.g., Mi Casa, The Office, etc.), don't wait past ~9-10 a.m. or so on any given day to make reservations at Siempre. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for the buffet. The buffet is hit or miss IMHO.

Great Staff, Food not 5 star

Great place for a quiet get away. Unfortunately, beach is not safely swimmable and the food although very good at times was mostly mediocre. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Most were bilingual and very friendly. I would advise to most, however, if high end restaurants are the norm for you, perhaps all-inclusive is not the way to go. Overall, I recommend highly. Free shuttle to sister hotels is a large plus.

Great Staff at a hidden gem up the Coast

We enjoyed the amenities at the hotel and the other Pueblo Bonito sister properties in Cabo. The food was above average at the Siempre restaurant. I enjoyed the Tuna tar tar, fresh grilled fish and other items. We'd recommend the Sushi Bar too. The Wine bar is open late which is nice too.

Peaceful and grand

This was an extremely peaceful stay. I love love love the hotel grounds and how the lobby smells so nice. It feels good to come back to the hotel after a day spent in the busy san lucas. Service was also exceptional. We loved our experience here. The only drawback was how far it is to downtown area where all the restaurants are.

Romantic get away

The location feels very remote yet is only 10 mins to town. The beach is over 2 miles long and very private. At times we were the only ones walking on the beach. It felt like ours. Sweet. The room was adequate despite not being overly large. Very clean and it had all we really needed. The staff here are amazing. So so nice, accommodating and personal.Could not ask for better service. The food is very fresh, healthy and wholesome. You can get the carb load type food if you like or fresh fish, fruits, etc with a mexican flare. Good quality alcohol as well. Great tequila options if you wish to pay for the best of the best. It is very zen and relaxing. We were in culture shock at first then really learned to appreciate to screaming kids or any type of crazy anywhere. Feel into the meditative state of mind here. We plan to return next year to decompress.

We would go back

The hotel setting was beautiful and relaxing. We did the all-inclusive and I may or may not do that again. The food was very good. At times the restaurant service was slow. The drinks were not so good, unless you only drank beer. Overall, it would be worth going back. A big plus is that it is all adult.

Relaxing Place to visit

Overall the resort was very nice, quiet, clean and a great place to unwind and relax. We had a great view of the ocean and our room was a good size. Room service was very quick and housekeeping kept the room nice and clean. There are only 3 places to eat on site. Siempre, the pool/buffet and the Sushi place. We were suprised at how good the buffet was, and it was sit down and you ordered from a menu. The only buffet part was the salad bar and desert bar. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We used the gym and it had all the equipment that you would need with good tv's. My only comment would be at check in...Just watch out for the time-share portion. But some people want to hear about it to get the credits.

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

If you want to go into town, take the shuttle to the other resort in Cabo. It's about a 10min walk to the Marina and the night life. And to get back a cab is about $10.

Great Honeymoon

The Pueblo Bonito was very quite it and relaxing. It was the perfect place for a honeymoon due to it not having any kids. It has a private entrance with a private beach which meant no vendors. I thought it would be a problem that the hotel was not close to downtown but we actually found it not to be that big of a deal. A taxi ride into town was about $10.
