Great location but the hotel needs a face lift

We spent 8 days in Pueblo Bonito Blanco. I believe this is one of the best locations in Cabo, with a nice beach, where you can go in the ocean, and close to everything at the same time. Unfortunately this place is and looks dated. It shows that once the timeshares were sold out for this place nothing was updated (except for the fees maybe). We don't own here so I don't know. However the hotel does not have a jacuzzi, nor does the Pueblo Bonito Rose next door. The view from the room is outstanding and the size is nice but the old bulky TV that has a sound below any expectations was disappointing. The internet is free only in a limited area at the next door hotel (Rose). With an update this could be a great place, otherwise it is just a perfect location.

Location, All Inclusive, Great Pool next door

Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would go back again. • Location: Awesome – 5 stars. Right on the Medano beach with views of Lovers Beach. We can do all the water activities right there and walk to Mango deck in 3 min. 10 min walk to downtown where all the night life is or $6 cab. Very very convenient. The view is spectacular every day! • Room: 4 stars. Henoc is very friendly and always there at the front desk and if you give him a good reason, he will try to give you a free upgrade to a better room. We got an upgrade and had a nice ocean view. The room arrangement felt a little weird at first. The bedroom is separate with no views and the living and dining area has the view to the ocean, but it turned out better as hubby can watch TV in living room and I can sleep well in the bedroom. I give 4 stars though as our safe broke twice. We ended up just giving up using it. Nothing was lost, more of a hassle to keep asking it to be fixed. Our shower broke once but they fixed it in 20 min so no big deal. Beds were comfortable enough. Only have double beds – okay by us as we can snuggle in one if we want to or sleep separately if we want more space. • Food: 4 stars. Lots of varieties. Love the fact we can do a la carte or buffet. At probably 5 times a day as we had the all inclusive deal (recommend this – great for my low carb diet) They asked us to make reservations but given Oct is not high season, we didn’t and got in everywhere with no issues. We love the buffet breakfast in Mare Nostrom in the Rose with made to order eggs and they made me egg benedict twice even though it’s not on the menu. We love doing lunch at Cilantro overlooking the ocean or at the pool at Rose hotel. Delicious food. Fish ceviche at Cilantro is awesome!! Sushi bar is pretty good especially if you stick to Tuna. We had Tuna Sashimi Serrantino, Fried Rice and Calamari. Others say the other fishes are not as good so we didn’t try. Dinner buffet are usually good with variety. You can also order a grill for two with all kinds of meat on it. They also deliver food to the room until 1am for a $5 charge. That was useful as we get hungry at night and there is no food option except that after 10pm. Only complaint is lots of flies and bugs in some areas of Mare Nostrom. Makes me wonder if all the food is clean if they left it open. We had a little stomach issue one day but it was mild and passed. Not sure it was from the food or the heat. • Service: 3.5 stars. I think if you don’t tip extra, you will get a 3 star experience. Service is slower and less prompt. We decided to tip often about $50 total for a week and service was much better. Waiter will remember your drink order from the day before and will also bring you a ice bucket for your water by the pool. I dislike the fact that service is different based on tips but understand why it’s that way, I guess since this hotel is not all all inclusive. The mix makes the service inconsistent. • Entertainment: 3 stars. Best night was sat night Carnival night. Show is spectacular and well worth it. Other nights are pretty dead. Day time activities at the Rose are somewhat entertaining – water aerobic class is a bit better than at our hotel + volleyball + contests. Wish they played more music. • Pool: 5 stars for the pool at the Rose. The size is awesome and perfect 3 – 3.5 feet deep. Love the cabanas which you can get if you go early. No extra charge. The pool at our hotel is smaller but also good. • Clientele: seems to have more older 45 – 60+ year old crowd and out of shape. 30% younger crowd. We didn’t mind it as it’s quiet and we can go into town for partying but would have like more eye candies at the pool. We will stay here again. Rooms have a better view and about the same price at the Rose.

Hotel

The hotel staff was good and the hotel waiters were excellent they went out of the way if needed. Our room was nice but the palm tree took up all of our view to see the ocean front. Then our room was very Mildrew smell even after the staff spayed . Our room was 323, and the humity machine need to be dumped each day because the water stops it from working, the cleaning person should do this daily. We enjoyed the beach front all and all it was great. Mahalo thanks Christiane

Great time, all around. 3rd time at PBB Asked for a beach front upgrade, paid a fee for it - but was worth it. water was 20 feet away. Great view as well. Pool was very nice, great beach location. Went fishing with the guys at Pisces sport fishing - 6 yellow fin, 3 dorado, 1 marlin - released. Trailer park, Mi casa for dinner 4 **** and cabo wabo for drinks and entertainment. location, location Rose and Blanco what u need to know

If you want to hang out where the action is, this is it. It is centrally located you can walk to the marina at night. We were upgraded to the Pueblo Bonito Rose next door it's sister hotel which was a better deal. The Blanco is nice, clean but small and it has a very small pool compared to the Rose next door, regardless you can use the facilities next door so thats not an issue., but you shouldn't pay more to stay at the blanco. It is the oldest hotel of the four sister pueblo bonitos, but it's location makes it desirable. It is centrally located and in front of Los Arcos or playa del amor around the bend you will find the pacific ocean. We went for 4th of July and they had a great show. The only bad thing is they tend to exclude younger children from pool games which was upsetting to my 9 year old son :(. Bummer, so they don't really cater to your children, but your children will have a great time with you anyway :). they have a great kids pool that you will enjoy very safe (. The shows do include the chiildren at the beggining which is fun for them. OH and shows are not free you have to pay for the sit down dinner and show . They have a nice and reasonab ly priced coffee shop and mini mart where you can get your coffee and paper in the morning. The beach is kind of on a slope not so flat as you may want to swim in it comfortably. you have to watch small children well., but its very clean. Except when it rains, there is a gutter that runs through the hotel and it brings all of th grime and trash from the city on to the beach. If it rains you can't use the beach at least for a day until it clears up. It is right across from los arcos playa del amor so about a 15 minuite boat ride to go snorkle and hang out, but because you are very close to the pacific ocean the waves can sometimes be a little choppy. The hotel is a little overpriced but your basically paying for the location. You save money and time on not having to take a taxi here and there. Overall it's a very comfortable hotel with a great pool. For kids I have to say that it is kid friendly but they personally dont go out of there way to cater to your kids. They are more focused on adults playing volley ball and teenagers. You can still have a great time with your little ones as you won't have to walk so far with them if you want to check out the rest of downtown cabo. A stroller can easily be used to go to the marina which is about a mile away from your hotel and a safe walk. I recommend taking the shuttle to the Sunset Beach Pueblo Bonito and having dinner at the Frida Kahlo Restaurant. That is if your looking for a romantic dinner with no kids. Anyhow Make reservations atht e Frida Kahlo! That hotel is on th pacific side so the beach is non swimmable but beautiful and breath taking views. this is a 5 star hotel and well worth the price. when I booked in october three years ago I paid 160.00 and I was so happy to tell all my friends that I stayed at the best resort ever for that price. However now the prices have sky rocketed! There is no way I will pay 500/ night because I don't believe any hotel is worth that. Sorry. The service is always wonderful because it "MEXICO".

Beautiful View

Pueblo Bonito Blanco was beautiful! The room was large (the Jr. suite has a seperate bedroom), the view was awesome (honestly, I don't think there's a bad view in the whole hotel), the grounds were super nice and the staff was more than helpful. The food was better than average and it was great that it was within walking distance to both the marina and downtown. The ONLY negatives would be the pushy street and beach vendors (but they were everywhere) and the mattresses could be better. However, that being said, we would most definately stay there again!

Be VERY careful about any of the silver you buy from the vendors...99% of it is plated. In the nicer stores it is solid silver. See Carlos' shop in San Jose' del Cabo - it is and he is great (one-of-a-kind pieces). The art district in the Historic part of San Jose' is worth the short taxi ride!!!
