Cozy Cabo San Lucas B&B eyes artisan lovers with rustic rooms, garden
Norman Diego's The Mexican Inn brims with Mexican charm, targeting travelers who appreciate rustic touches and homespun hospitality. Rooms sport names of senoritas -- Frida and Esmeralda, for example -- and are filled with local pieces, from hand-painted sinks to folk paintings. A palapa-covered patio overlooking the gardens and fountain is pure bliss, especially with a cup of Mexican coffee and desserts (postres), which are offered to guests upon check in.
Highlights
  • Mexican Colonial style bed-and-breakfast
  • Rooms decorated with local art hand-crafted pieces
  • Coffee and desserts (postres) provided at check in
  • Palapa-style patio and lush gardens
  • Newly installed shower systems
Rooms
Rooms at Norman Diego's The Mexican Inn evoke local charm, bearing names of famous senoritas such as Frida, Chonchita, Esmeralda, Maria and others. Look for rustic touches like hand-painted sinks and arts and crafts from Guadalajara, Taxco, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco. Accents like sheer canopies and live plants add softness and vibrancy to the tiled-floor spaces. Each room has a queen bed, wood wardrobes for storage, 20-inch color TVs with DVD players and newly installed shower systems.
Features
Norman Diego's The Mexican Inn sets a tone of hospitality the minute guests walk in. After check in, visitors are treated to a cup of local coffee and desserts (postres) under the palapa-covered patio. A wood-burning chimney furthers the warmth of the B&B.

Over Priced Bed and Breakfast

This room would have been a great value at $40, but as priced is definitely not worth another stay.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Baja Cantina is a great place to spend the day and night on the beach. Big umbrellas and soft foam lounges make for romantic spot to spend the whole day. Catch of the Day was very tasty and the cold Pacifico beer in a ice bucket made the day complete.

affordable & friendly but a bit noisy

great place with nice rooms, breakfast & staff, but bring earplugs! rooms are all ground-level and nowhere near soundproof, so beware if you are a light sleeper

A Great Place To Stay

I wanted a small Bed and Breakfast where I could experience a true Mexican vacation, but still wanted to be close to shopping, restaurants and the Marina - the Mexican Inn was perfect on all accounts. Mithe, the owner/operator spoke good English and she could not have been more helpful. The accomodations were spotless, the breakfast excellent, and the rates very reasonable - all within a short walk to the Marina and shopping malls. I can not say enough good things about the Mexican Inn and my enjoyable stay there.
