Relaxing and quiet
Marbella Suites is between San Jose and Cabo, which is a great location if you want peace and quiet. It is right on the beach. The entire staff is VERY helpful and kind. I have stayed twice and both times and loved both visits. I never had to wait to use the pool, beach chairs, restaurant or bar. Wi-fi worked perfectly well from the room I had on 1st visit; couldn't get it to work from my room on my 2nd stay. But, there are plenty of places to get comfortable, enjoy the sun or shady breeze, and get wi-fi service. I didn't leave the resort on either stay and found the resturant menu varied enough to eat over multiple days. The only negative I've had was that during my 2nd visit, there were quite a few ants. Tiny ones. I didn't have food in my room, so it didn't become a big problem.

Third Visit; Plan Many More !
This was our third week-long stay at Marbella Suites. That says it all. We love this place! Our corner suite is perfect. We have requested this room since our first stay. The restaurant is great, the menu is varied, the food is delicious, and the portions are huge. The beach is lovely. It is not unusual to find that you are the only people on the beach. What could be better than reading on the beach and watching the whales play in the Sea of Cortez? Best of all are the folks that work at Marbella. From the front desk, to the gardener, to the housekeeping staff, to the waiters, everyone is friendly, helpful, and a joy to see each day. We plan to make Marbella an annual trip.

Baja Road trip
Our first impression was not 4 star as the parking availability is a dirt lot right off the highway and was very small so cars were not protected from harm. Once inside, we discovered an almost 5 star hotel. The grounds were lovely, well landscaped, with interesting architecture inside and out. The pool area is beautifully situated and there are two hot tubs with ocean vistas. The hotel is on the beach and provides great walking opportunities. Sadly the majority of the rooms do not enjoy the view - but the unusual and interesting artistic details inside make up for that shortcoming. The restaurant has a delightful ocean view and offers guests an opportunity to dine right on the beach (with reservations.) The food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Mexican Villa and Whales..
If you want a taste of Mexican charm this is the place for you. Quiet, lovely tile steps (lots of them) to rooms and down to the quiet blue ocean filled with whales (Feb). Lovely garden. Not all rooms have a view, garden or ocean, so ask. But the whales were everywhere so bring your binnoclulars.. No TV in rooms so be warned. TV room, great pool, pool table, hot tubs. Staff is very helpful. Only one restaruant and two bars. Food was excellent. Location is prefect if you want quiet beach and no venders. Need a car if you want to explore which I recomend as there is at least a week's worth of things to see.

Great vacation location
Spent 5nights over Thanksgiving weekend and was very pleased with our accommodations. It was a plus to have a living room and game table with ou 2nedroom suite. There were 5 of us and it was never crowded. The beach was practically private and very nice to walk on. Surf was no too rough for the 10 and13 year olds to swim. We had a private dinner on the beach our last night and enjoyed the campfire under the stars. Food was consistently good, breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Would recommend to others and would stay here again. Good value and good location about equal distance from town, airport, and Cabo.

Horrible
Only stay here if you need to spend a night before going to a REAL resort. We arrived at the Marbella around 10pm and we did not want to pay the extra $$$ to spend the night at Dreams Resort. So, we stayed at Marbella and took a taxi to Dreams Resort the very next morning. Please do not plan to stay at Marbella for your whole vacation. You will regret it!!!!!

It was disappointing
No air conditioning in the living area, it was hot and uncomfortable. All areas such as restaurant, internet room, game room did not have air conditioning, temperature was 94 degrees. This is not a 3 star hotel. Restaurant was expensive but food was good. Maids and workers were friendly. No closets in the bedrooms, furniture are falling apart, Overall my experience was borderline terrible.

overpriced
The furniture in the room that I rented was dirty and had stains. The rooms do not have TV. The shower curtain rod was ready to fall down, and there was peeling paint in the bathroom. The hot tubs here both need to be replaced. The Jaccuzi part of both tubs were broken. There are a lot of step to go up and down to get from the lobby to the restaurant and pool, and so do not stay here if you cannot climb a lot of steps. There was a wedding during the time I stayed, and that shut down access to the pool, hot tubs, bar, and restaurant. Overall, this hotel is ready for a major overhaul. As is, it is overpriced, and a long ways from San Lucas and San Jose.

Second time around.....
This is my second visit to Marbella Suites en La Playa. This time, I brought more members of my family. This is the ideal hotel if you are looking for a "no-frills" authentic Mexican spot to vacation. Perfectly situated between San Jose and Cabo, the location is ideal for those who do not want to be in the middle of Cabo activities and traffic. We rented a car and had smooth travels to San Jose, Todos Santos, Cabo, and La Paz. We were always happy to return to our quiet casa on the beach. The hotel was clean, the staff was very attentive and all our needs were met. If you like simple, affordable vacations and do not need all the bells & whistles, this place is for you.
