An Evening In Cabo

A quite place of luxery on the beach and close to marina and old center of town. Large spacious room with great view of pool and sea. Quiet with lots of privecy. Slightly over priced, but no problems to contend with.

3 pools, one w swim up bar and all with pool side service, on site restaurant, whale watcher bar is aptly named. All help is very helpful and friendly. Has Wi-Fi at pool and in lobby.. inaccessible for most rooms. 50 time shares and almost 300 rooms 200 of which are not in use at present. Management changed Mar 1. Now operated by Sandos of Spain. Cruise ships are sold 7 hour food and pool tour packages...annoying.

hasn't been updated in a long time, was mostly vacant

This is surrounded by some of the best hotels in Cabo. My take is it is going to be purchased by another company. They aren't putting any money into this place . The room as clean, but very dated. There were bugs in it on arrival (which were taken care of). The TV remote didn't work, the A/C was loud and very finnicky (would sometimes turn off/on when the door was opened/shut, other times it wouldn't). The place was rather empty (at a time where other places were totally sold out). The pools and grounds were awesome. There are a lot of pools and they have shallow areas, which helps with warming the water as it wasn't cold at all to me (Mid March). There were about 20 people at the 4 HUGE pools they had. The lunch at the beach bar was great. Happy Hour had 2x1 so it was reasonable. Great location for those wanting to stay on the Pacific side. Great nightly price (hold out, they go lower!). However, didn't like the nightly fee to cover tips, as the employees expected tips anyways so I tipped everyone twice.

Nice Place

We enjoyed this hotel. Close (walking distance) to town. The room was clean and comfortable. The 3 pools were very nice, could have been heated though. The only thing I would have liked is to have Internet service in my room, they only have it downstairs and then not always reliable. Big hill to main road, they do have ride but have to call for it...should have ride at bottom to take you up. Overall very pleased.

Cabo 3-9

Great hotel for the price! Centrally located with walking distance to everything downtown. Whale look out resturant was superb. We had breakfast there everyday with the waiter Manuel treating us like family. Happy hour out at the pool bar was exceptional. The room we had overlooked the dolphin pool which made it hard getting my wife out of the room in the morning.

Has definitely had its day!!!

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and knew that it was not a luxury hotel but loved the location and it was clean and everything worked. On this visit the first room they put us in the bathroom floor was covered in what appeared to be mold. The second room the air conditioning ran all night long no matter what the setting was on. The third room the bathroom floor was discolored but we were tired of moving and did not think things were going to get any better in other rooms. The furnishings are extremely dated. The pillows flat and small. Overall experience was not pleasant. Would give it a 1 to 1 1/2 star rating.

Living at Lands End

The hotel, while older, is charming and comfortable. The walk down the hill may be difficult for people with balance problems, but the staff is available to drive you down. Once there one can walk the marina which is always interesting and beautiful. The view from the balcony is stunning. We saw whales many times plus all the boat and ship activity. Food in the bar was good, vey nice service, and less expensive than many places while providing fantastic atmosphere. Pools and pool bar are lovely.

great location, needs some love

the scenery is amazing, beautiful location. the hotel was clearly in its prime a long time ago and is in desperate need of new management, and possibly some renovation. the shower and bed are uncomfortable. the front desk messed up our reservation dates, and didn't believe that i had reserved extra days. also the hotel restaurant will not accept most credit card payments and the waiter complained about cash payments because he had to go get change from the front desk. Overall, really inefficiently ran hotel. Very poor management. Not the hotel's fault, but timeshare salesmen are EVERYWHERE as soon as you get off the plane.

The best location in Cabo!

Considering that this is one of the first hotels built in Cabo San Lucas, it is showing signs of wear and tear; however, it is extremely clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The location is absolutely the BEST with the ocean on one side and the marina and town on the other. This is a non-swimmable beach, so don't expect to go there and swim, but the 3 pools are wonderful. Beach and rock formations are beautiful. Whale watching is SPECTACULAR!

Great Cabo Vacation

While the Finisterra is one of the older hotels in Cabo, it is well maintained and perfectly situated on the point of Baja where the Pacific and Sea of Cortez meet. It is a short walk to the marina and downtown. There are three gorgeous pools, which were largely unused this time of year. The staff are very accomodating and there is limited time share sales pressure. We definitely will stay there again.

Los Deosos is located at "A" dock at the marina. Try the three cheese appetizer. It not only tastes great, but the table presentation is entertaining.
