Attending a destination wedding/vacation

This hotel was perfect for my needs. Located a block from the beach (no beach views) , walking distance to the town, clean rooms and friendly staff. The rooms where by no means luxury, but had everything I needed (you probably won't be spending too much time in the room anyway!). The restaurant in the hotel was very nice and somewhat affordable...very popular at night so make reservations ahead. My friends where staying at the Casa Dorada across the street which is a luxury hotel...so hung out there a lot at their pool you might want to as well. The bad? The pool is very nice but not as nice as pictured on the website. We had a problem with the shuttle service they use through their website...the shuttle never came to take us to the airport...luckly my friend still had a car to get us to the airport. It is Cabo, so expect loud college kids...I have no problem with that. All and all a great value and a staff that exceeds all my expectations. I would certainly stay there again if I go back to Cabo! Have fun!

Good location, excellent service, very comfortable

Charming, comfortable, well situated. Really wonderful service (true almost everywhere we went in Cabo). Special menton: The hotel restaurant Esquina is superb. Local ingredients with stunning presentation. I'd call it "California nouvelle cuisine." Not cheap, even by US standards but excellent value. My wife and I spent about $100 US (including drinks, appetizers, dessert) on a meal that would have cost twice that in Seattle. The tuna tartare is delicious and visually striking. The boulliabase is more conventional but perfect. Had a room-service 4 cheese pizza the last night that was about as good as a "pizza" can get. Of course, to save money you could always walk thirty feet out the door to the beach and get a hand made quesadilla with chicken, also delicious, for 23 pesos. Yum.

Beautiful Hotel and Great Staff

We had a wonderful time in Los Cabos. The Bahia was a very good location. My hubby and I found the staff very friendly and the hotel spotless. They are undergoing renovations a little at a time as not to inconvience any of the guests. I would go back tomorrow if we didn't have to work!!

Great Boutique Hotel in ideal location of Cabo Town!

The Bahia Hotel is very clean and well kept. Rooms: The first 2 floors are refurbished rooms which are very nicely decorated (clean, simple, w. a touch of tropical bohemian) the refurbished rooms come w. a small microwave, small refrigerator & sink in the kitchen area (the older rooms 3rd, 4th and 5th floors - unless you rent an owners unit) have kitchenettes w. stoves, dishes, & utensils but no pots or pans & no microwaves. If you need a hair dryer, toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, shaving cream, etc. they'll provide it for you & the soap, shampoo, lotion are excellent quality (same as Plaza Bonita Sunset) & towels are thick and over sized. The hotel is located in a great area of the city. It's a block up from Medano Beach (until 4 years ago it was beach front but a new hotel was built in front of it so you need to walk on either side of ā€˜Casa Dorado’ to get to the beach) literally, 100 steps away - and some of the best restaurants in the city are a few steps from The Bahia. (Edith's, Peacock's, Sharkey's & the Bahia's on-site restaurant is one of the best in the city / Bar Esquina) The pool bar menu was excellent and moderately priced. On Site: They have 5 sun beds at the pool which you need to secure early on busy pool days (we had 2 out of 8 days that were busy) and the service is excellent. We were in a pool room (103) and it was great to walk out to the pool & hot spa in the evenings and convenient while sunning in the afternoon. The front desk staff serve as concierge & they were more than helpful in any & every request. The ONLY negative is the beds are HARD!!! If you're use to sleeping on the floor, or a futon, then you'll be fine. But if you like "heavenly beds" you won't find it at Bahia! But the linens were very nice and the AC worked great! It's an awesome VALUE - if you're looking for a local above average quality, clean, nice, perfectly located boutique hotel - this IS THE PLACE! No bugs. Animal friendly. People Friendly. ENJOY!!

Great restaurants nearby. Try to stay away from the pricey places along the Marina (5/10 minute walk from Bahia) either take a ($8.00) taxi ride to Maro's Shrimp House downtown or stay near the hotel and at the Hacienda or Edith's, Peacock's, Sharkey's, or the hotel's restaurant, Bar Esquina (which is excellent) INEXPENSIVE Massages nearby - great deals! ($20 to $30 per hour) ENJOY!

Good for the price

It is in a good location, close to the beach, and close enough to walk to the marina. The pool area is very nice, although we found the wooden lounge chairs to be uncomfortable after awhile and the beds were saved quite often for long periods of time with no one on them. Great bar service by the pool. Our room was not terribly comfortable. Must've been an old one, and we didn't have any furniture on the balcony. Food is good in the restaurant, but breakfast is pretty limited.

Very Good renovated hotel, perfect location if you want beach and nightlife

This hotel is renovated and in a great location: one block way from the beach Medano and downtown. You can comfortably walk from all the restaurants or night clubs back to the hotel. The pool area is relatively small but comfortable. A great additional is the La Esquina restaurant with excellent food; dinner menu is a bit towards expensive, but still worth it for ambiance.

Amazing!

We absolutely loved our time at the Bahia Hotel. Upon arrival, there was an issue with our booking and for some reason the Hotel did not have a reservation for us. The lady at the front desk was extremely pleasant and promptly organised a room, and was very apologetic. The room was very clean, and comfortable with the added bonus of a small kitchenette, which can be very handy for lengthy stays as Cabo is relatively expensive. We had a nice view of the pool from our balcony. We enjoyed the beds layed out by the pool and the bar staff and pool bar were excellent! Although there is no ocean view, we walk a few metres across the road to the beach. You can stay in a nice hotel at a much cheaper price to be one hotel back from the sand. Definitely worth it! We loved Bahia Hotel!

Avarage place, good location for people that want a central spot in the city

The hotel had a good location if you are into the city, Downtown is only 5 minutes walk, the restaurant was good, but expensive. It was strange how every day the pool bar had different prices for the same drinks! The room was ok, clean and overall perfect for the money we pay.

great hotel/great location

This boutique hotel was GREAT. Hotel is in a great location; its approximately 1 block from the beach, and a mile (or less) from the marina and downtown (which is where the shops, mall, nightlife, restaurants and bars are located). We only used a cab 1 time and that was only because I had on high heels and was on my way to the club. Cab only cost $6 and we ended up taking a cab back since my feet were not hurting. The staff is SUPER nice especially Fabian, Juan and Viridana. Food in the hotel is GREAT and reasonably priced. Pool and jacuzzi are clean. I felt very safe at all times while staying here. I had no problems with the room itself except the low water pressure in the bathroom sink however it was not significant enough for me to complain which Im sure if I did the staff would have made an attempt to fix if possible. Room was clean and none of my belongings were stolen (that has happened to me before at a hotel in D R). There is a stove in the room should you decide to do any cooking rather then eating out. Hammock located in the hallways overlooking the pool (quite comfortable). No safe in the room; safe is centrally located on the 1st floor in the lobby in a locked room. Viridana assisted me with arranging transportation (we spoke via email) from the airport to the hotel which was also reasonably priced ($18). A word of caution, if transportation is arranged WALK COMPLETELY OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT to meet the person who will be driving you (who will also be holding a sign). If not you will be approached by people who claim to be affiliated with the transportation company, who you will later realize is trying to sign you up for a time share presentation. Don't worry even if you are interested in a presentation there are more then enough people you will meet while out and about that will set you up with such a presentation. TRUST ME....more then enough! All in all this was a GREAT vacation (and I have been all around the world). I intend to come back to CABO within the year and come back to this hotel if available.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

"Happy Ending" has great cheap drinks (2 tequila shots for $3) and plays a variety of music. Also lots of clubs are near there and 2 GREAT taco stands that are open late (when the club is over). 2 soft shell tacos made in front of you will cost $3 and you can self add all the fixings you want and as much as you want. Do some of the time share presentations even if your not interested. You will get to see beautiful resorts and given great freebees (spa treatments, dinner cruise, free ride to airport, meals, etc.)

Excellent location.

Note, the hotel offers renovated and un-renovated rooms, the latter are much cheaper, however they look old and not very attractive, although they are clean and spacious. The hotel restaurant is quite good, and the reception staff needs some professional development courses. All in all good value for money.
