The Hotel Akumal Caribe is in the small town of Akumal on the Yucatan Peninsula, between the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, just 60 miles south of Cancun Airport. Akumal has retained the old world charm of a small long-established Mexican town. The Hotel Akumal Caribe is the perfect base for either a quiet beach-based break in the sun, or an adventure holiday packed with diving, sailing and exploring the ancient remains of the long lost Mayan culture which are situated nearby. All of the hotel rooms have balconies that overlook the swimming pool and have a sea view over the main bay. The bungalows are in a quieter part of the Hotel Akumal Caribe complex and offer more privacy in their garden setting, while being just steps away from the beach. The hotel rooms and bungalows have a choice of a king size bed or twin double beds and come complete with modern conveniences such as a mini refrigerator, air conditioning and ceiling fan. High-speed Internet connections and telephones are available in bungalows and hotel rooms at an extra charge.

The snack bar is the ideal spot for meals while spending the day at the beach, or after having explored the area.The guests You can order many authentic local dishes, prepared by hand by our Mayan staff. Cochinita pibil tacos, or the Mexican plate are favorites. We also have salads and sandwiches for lighter meals. Also at the Snack bar, are the best burgers in town! Everything from a Cheeseburger to a Deluxe Burger, as well as the Lol Ha Burger stuffed with Poblano peppers and cheese, and topped with avocado and bacon!!! It is more than a mouthful.

The best place to have a peaceful and relaxing breakfast! Enjoy the view of Akumal’s main bay in the early morning or sleep in and come later. Open from 7:30 -11am. And are famous for our Chilaquiles, Huevos Rancheros, waffles and omelets!

Romantic Getaway in Akumal

I really liked how friendly and service oriented the staff was. The beach was beautiful and not crowded; we snorkeled directly from the beach and it was fabulous -- we saw turtles, manta rays, coral and tropical fish. The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing and there were cute little restaurants across the street, too. Great relaxing vacation in a small, no-fuss environment (not a gated community or resort/fortress). The hotel was spotless, bright, charming.

Hotel Akumal Caribe

Pool and beach are great. Snorkeling is fantastic and the food in the restaurant and snack bar were delicious. Rooms were very nice and kept very clean. Staff were very helpful. Great location.
