Still the best place to stay in Acapulco!

I have only good things to say about Howard Hughes' favorite place to stay in Acapulco, the Princess. Situated on the cleanest and safest beach in Acapulco, it's where the action is during holidays; and the swimming pool areas are reminiscent of Disneyland. It is next door to a golf club and one can safely jog/walk in the area. The staff continues to be highly efficient and friendly; they also speak English. The buffet breakfast at the patio restaurant is outstanding. The rooms are a little dated but large, functional and very clean. I would recommend anyone travelling with family to stay at this hotel.

Good place to Stay

In general, Princess Hotel is a nice and clean place to stay with a beautiful and warm beach. Staff is normally kind and helpful. I didn't like the distance from the hotel to the main Av where the restaurants and malls are located (in case you don't want to use the hotel's restaurants). We had to take taxis every time we went out for dinner or a morning coffee.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

There's a long walk from the Hotel to the restaurants and shopping malls, so consider to pay a taxi constantly o you better rent a car.

Nice hotel, but inefficient check-in

This hotel is very nice. There are 4 pools, waterfalls, and nice, although pricey, restaurants. The rooms are large and all have balconies. The bed was a little too hard for my liking, but not bad. The problem was in the check-in. We had to stand in line for almost 2 hours to check into the hotel. This was high season and schools were on vacation, so everyone was checking in at the same time, but the hotel should have provided for that and put more people and computers at the front desk. By the time we got our room, our backs were hurting from standing in line so long. They did give us mago water while we waited, but there was no apology when we finally arrived at the front desk. It wasn't the employees' fault, but the management should have seen this coming and done something about it. We've stayed here in the past and haven't had the same problem, but we're not likely to go again in high season.

La Posadita, the steak house, is excellent. The Italian restaurant, La Tavola, has wonderful seafood soup. The fish restaurant by the pool is only average and the service is slow.

Nice place, big flaws

Pluses: nice cation, big rooms, attentive staff, best buffet breakfast ever Minuses: cigarrette butts in terrace, woke up by workers drilling next to our room (Sunday 9am!,), tv remote didn't work In summary, this could be a great hotel only if management wanted it to be.

Has potential but needs work...

The staff was very nice and the rooms quite big and comfortable but the hotel is quite old and needs work! The food at the pool was not very good and because of that we didn not try any other restaurant, we decided to eat out. It´s as if the hotel needed more inviting details...

Great family getaway

Beautiful hotel, from the lobby to the pools, friendly staff, rooms with stunning views, etc... What we loved about the hotel is the landscape, plenty of superb trees giving a lot of shade, and the sea water pool . Very relaxing stay. Only negative points are expensive Beach club restaurant and the queue at the morning buffet.

Good location and beautiful site

We (my wife and 2 year daughter) stayed in this hotel because we had a wedding in Barra Vieja Acapulco. I was a bit concerned because I saw previous reviews alerting about expensive charges in dining and some amenities, but at the end it was no different than any other place in Acapulco. The hotel is well maintained and the exteriors are very nice, the staff is friendly and responded very timely to our requests. Some rooms are old and don't have a frigo bar but that didn't really concerned us much, the part I really think should improve is the Wifi because it was only available at the lobby and perhaps have he Gym complementary.
