Expected more from Grupo Habita

This hotel is nicely renovated, but it still isn't in the league of the other Habita line of hotels. It's a step or two down from Condesa DF or La Downtown in Mexico City. The location is terrible, nowhere near the main stuff in town, nor the other boutique hotels on the opposite side of the bay. The neighborhood is very dirty and poor and the construction all around makes it even worse. The beach at this place is pretty bad too. It's nice once you're inside the hotel, but not nice enough to make up for the surroundings.

Lovely hotel, comfortable rooms.

Hotel is very comfortable, mid century modern furniture (50's)and a nice and helpful staff. Hotel is in the old part of Acapulco, while at the hotel is great it's very run down and poor around the hotel. You will constantly be asked for money for everything imagineable Security at the hotel is good though, you just have to be aware of what's around you and make the best of it.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

The most important thing I can tell anyone from personal experience is: If you rent a car and drive anywhere in Acapulco you will be stopped by the local police, accused of a ficticious driving violation you did not commet, then thretened with going to the police station in a remote part of the city and pay a large fine or you can work it out on the spot by giving them half the fine or whatever you have on you. Happened twice to me and my daughter, fortunitely she speaks fluent Spanish although it still cost us 1550 pesos totel for both shakedown stops. The local police are all criminals. Either take cabs or a bus and try not to use a car. They only stop tourists because the Mexican people don't have money to give them. Will never go back to Acapulco, ruined the trip there.
