We ate at the acapulco malibu - less than a block away. Very friendly and helpful people - excellent food and drinks. We found staff very limited at the Calinda.

OK for a place to sleep
The Calinda Beach Hotel was in a great location and i loved the beach room view but the beds were not very comfortable and the rooms were not terrible but they were not great. It might sound like an irrelevent comment but the room's pain job wasn't all that great.

Good value mid range hotel
My overall experience of this hotel was a satisfactory one, most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, with the exception of the reception staff who were not at all friendly and as first impressions mean a lot they would do well to try and be more welcoming. The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear but the remodelling appears to be ongoing. The rooms are clean and functional and good value. Our only real issue was with the fact that the pool area was being repaired and it became very noisy with construction work and feel the hotel could have at least given warning if not scheduled the repairs better. We had to evacuate to the adjoining beach to escape the noise, which was not too much of a problem as the beach is very nice and well catered for snacks, drinks and watersports. The hotel is in a good location, beach on one side and easy access to restaurants, bars and entertainment on the other. There is very good public transport and taxis are always available if required. This is not a luxury hotel, but is good value for a reasonable standard. There is a gentleman called Homero that works at the side of reception for an excursion company who is first class and very polite and helpful who can arrange excursions without sales pressure and gives very good advice.

Great Value in good location
Thoroughly enjoyable. We went with this for the value to get a warm beach vacation in during the winter. Acapulco is 90 degree weather during the "winter". A 6star resort this is not, but for the price we were very pleased. Beach front in the main Acapulco bay, easy access to great restaurants, the cliff divers, isla roqueta, CiCi waterpark where you can swim with a dolphin for $75, etc

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
El Cabrita restaurant is about a 12 minute walk south and was out of this world. Ask to try the Oaxaquena salsa that has chocolate in it!
