Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
La Quebrada was only a short drive, as a matter fact take the bus for only five pesos, half a dollar and your there, you don't have to have dinner there, the guys from the shuttle riped us off, our dinner ended us costing us $ 250.00 us dollars and just because they pick you up and droping you of from hotel.

Most of the Staff only speaks Spanish
I would like to say it was ok. The room was great. I mean one of the best rooms and view that I have ever had. Now on the other hand I do not speak spanish. When I first arrived I could not be checked in because the two people at the front desk did not speak any english. Luck for me my partner is Mexican so I had him check us in. So next we go to the resturant and my partner goes to the bathroom and I thought I would order, wrong again the staff in the resturant did not speak english (btw the food in the resturant was the worst). So this place is great for someone who speaks spanish and eats somewhere else.

Not Good
the hotel needs some major upgrades , really needs new towels they were as hard as a rock . no wash cloths for the bathroom and people were always out to get a tip for doing nothing . i will never go back to that place. Cops at this location are so bad , we were pulled over on the way to the airport and was forced to pay $60 to get our DL back , so we could catch our flight . Acapilco sucks !!!!

Stay at Your Own Risk
The Avalon Excalibur was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. I have been to Mexico 5 times and this was the first time where I was at a hotel where not one member of the staff spoke a word of English. Our room was not cleaned at all during are entire stay. The Concierge was very unhelpful and rude. The beach amnitities were very poor, there were never enough lounge chairs on the pool or on the beach, and the hotel security was lackluster. Beach Vendors were allowed to come up to you as you lounged on hotel property and harrassed you every five minutes. the Food and drinks at the hotel were inedible and highly over priced. If you want to have a miserable time in Acapulco stay at this hotel, if not their are much better options available.
