Great hotel

Great hotel, especially given the price we paid. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and room was great. We had 4 in one room. It was very spacious and the two sofa beds were the comfiest sofa beds I've ever been on! Pool was lovely - good temperature and plenty of comfy sun loungers. Definitely opt for breakfast it's an incredible spread, especially the egg bar - the eggs benedict were amazing! Great location with the paceville strip right next door - but you would have never guessed as we didn't hear a sound from the hotel. The strip can also be avoided if preferred and there are plenty of delicious restaurants in the area. We had a great holiday. Would highly reccommend anyone to stay here.

30th Birthday

I decided to book intercontinental after reading reviews for a girly holiday to celebrate my 30th birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received. We arrived at the hotel at 11am knowing very well that checkin was at 3pm. I was expecting to leave my luggage with conciourge but was advised the room should be ready within an hour. The hotel staff suggested we go across the road for some lunch whilst they prepared the room. The location of the hotel is fantastic, opposite a shopping centre so plenty of places to eat without having to travel far. Exactly an hour later I received a call from the hotel telling me the room was ready and upon entering my room I was left speechless by the gesture of the customer relations manager - we had a bottle of champagne, chocolates and a card wishing me happy birthday - this was arranged by the hotel themselves at not at my friends request! The service kept just kept on getting better after this, on a daily basis the hotel staff would suggest where to go, arrange tours, book restaurants for dinner. All fine choices, nothing I would've done differently if I had prepared the itinary myself. So much so that the hotel managed to get us a refund after one of the tour companies messed up (nothing serious they just forgot to collect us from our final stop). That event didn't ruin the holiday for us but for the hotel to complain on our behalf was praiseworthy. We went with breakfast only and everyday were lost for choice with the huge selection on offer eggs made to preference, pancakes, waffles along with the usual hot and cold breakfast selection. Always served by smiling staff. The rooms were lovely and spacious, we had 1 room with two queen sized beds (their suggestion) which was perfect for us. Despite being next door to the notorious Paceville we had no issues with street noise etc as other reviewers may have experienced. Hotel guests equally as nice and polite as the staff. The shared facilities swimming pool, sauna, toilets etc were always cleaned and maintained to a high standard. I cannot fault one thing, a 10/10 for Intercontinental Hotel!

Lovely hotel and great staff

The hotel is very well designed, with pretty outdoor areas even though we were on the 8th floor. The room was perfect and the staff extremely helpful and very professional

malta - may14

We were upgraded for free to a larger room, but the balcony was hidden in the corner, and pitch black. We had the Maltese buffet on our first evening in the hotel. Perhaps it was the cuisine but I wasn't overly fond of the selection on offer, seemed very overpriced, especially when we attended nearby restaurants in the following evenings. On the second morning, we were woken at 10am to extremely loud drilling in what sounded like the room next door. We requested a move, and was told that the drilling was out of there hands, offered no apology, but agreed to a move, but said we would have to downgrade. This wasn't a problem for us, as we got the room we paid for, and ended up getting a much better balcony, so we were a lot happier. When we changed room, the staff who helped were extremely inquisitive as to make sure we were happy which was nice. The hotel was very nice other than the above incidents. The pool on the tenth floor was good, although a bit windy (which they can't help!) but wasn't very deep. Hotel was nice and central to the area, very convenient. Overall was probably hoping for a little more given the price, but, that's not to say I didn't enjoy my stay overall.

Family holiday - Malta

Room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom sink had black staining around the taps which detracted slightly from the overall cleanliness of the room. The beach was very close and the hotel had a private area for guests. The pool on the roof was great.

Lovely Hotel

Only stayed at this hotel for one night and what we saw of it it was lovely. The bed was comfy. Fridge well stocked. Very clean. Staff lovely. The breakfast was fantastic I have never seen so much choice. The only downside was that it was in a noisy busy street and 9 Euros to park in an underground car park overnight was a bit steep.

Fantastic location - club level a must!

I have stayed at other Intercontinental and comparable hotels and knew to book the club level which includes in-room internet (wired) service, separate check-in and concierge service, and club lounge access with free breakfast, business center, complimentary drinks any time in the lounge, afternoon tea with deserts and tea sandwiches, and happy hour. Great value for the money and worth the upgrade. Cons: *Walls are a little thin and could be noisy in the high season *One of the restaurants Harruba was being remodeled into Sopranos and was not available. We were not aware that would be the case *The asian restaurant, Asian Breeze was nice, but overpriced for the quality of food. Pros: *Location is fantastic! Short walk to bus stops, nightlife, beach and shopping center w/ bowling and cinema *Club level worth the price *Bathrooms were nice with separate shower stall and extra long tub *Rooms facing the garden at the upper floors also have great ocean views *Professional, courteous staff We traveled in the off season (last week of February) so the hotel was fairly empty.
