Had an amazing time in Malta. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and efficient. We went without any serious plans and they sorted everything out for us. The location is amazing and very central. It's whithin walking distance to lots of tourist areas and clubs/bars. Our room was beautiful and had an amazing view. Very happy with our stay. I have already recommended my friends and family to stay there.

Relaxing family trip

Would recommend Tue, Nov 3, 2015
Arrived earlier than check in but room was ready, thumbs up. room huge, three of us staying, lovely big balcony also. Bathroom could do with a makeover and shower not the best but there was a bath to use so not all negative. Plentiful toiletries and towels. Bathrobes, slippers etc to use. Extremely comfy beds and duvets- not sure the sheets were really changed everyday as my son dropped a bit of choc on his duvet one nt and the stain was still there the next nt. As a UK traveller was impressed the plugs were 3 pin and not european 2 pin- never had that before. Breakfast fantastic along with the wonderful and attentive waiting staff. Health club was deffo a plus. Indoor pool used as weather not the best, tried to participate in a class and was told didn't need to book but turned up 10 mins before and it was rammed so couldn't join. Went to the gym instead which was well equipped but very busy with members which shows how good the facilities are.

Great Hotel

Would recommend Thu, Mar 12, 2015
I was in Malta during the low season and so it was too cold to go for a swim. The hotel is VERY nice, however it is a bit far from Valletta and other major sites. They do offer free parking which is a plus and there is a groceries store right next to the hotel. Public transportation gets to the hotel but I wish more of the tourist sites were in walking distance.

Just what the doctor ordered!

Would recommend Mon, Jul 1, 2013
A challenging first 6 months to 2013 required the right balance of luxury, activity and non-activity. The Hilton Malta provided just that. From our friendly welcome, stunning location and facilities to the wide range of pools and eating options all our needs were satisfied, even down to managing 5 gym sessions out of 7 days - a good balance. When we come back to Malta this is almost certainly the pace we will stay.

Attractions

Don't do the combined boat trip to Gozo and Comino. The Gozo trip is too rushed and not very informative. Find a dedicated Gozo trip and leave the Comino to the beach party goers.

Great place to stay

Would recommend Tue, Jun 18, 2013
We were there for a week to enjoy the history. The Hilton suited our needs perfectly: it's located within the quiet Portomaso Marina complex but you are 5-10 mins walk from the bustle of Spinola Bay and 10-15 mins walk from the shopping of the Bay Street complex and the nightlife of Paceville. This also means you have an amazing choice of places to eat to suit all budgets, moods and tastes. But the real thing that makes this hotel are the staff: from start to finish everyone was friendly, helpful and genuine.

Dining

Zest restaurant at the Hotel Juliani at Spinola Bay is well worth a visit. Check out their website.

souless corporate rip off joint - don't go

Would not recommend Wed, May 8, 2013
if you like to have to pay for everything right rhoguh to a pillow and wifi then the Hilton is best for you. On top of that normla things are a rip off. Water 4euros, OJ 6 euros, a sandwich 17euros. I don't mind paying big money and do so frequently, but the prices are only that high as Hilton know the customer is expensing it rather than their being high cos it's something special. This hotel is for business people who don't care about their company's money. Plus there were loads of screaming kids and not enough sun beds.

The Place to Stay in Malta

Would recommend Sat, Aug 13, 2011
I could write many words to describe our experience and the service we got. All of them would come short. If you are planning in enjoying a relaxing and pleasant holiday in Malta, this is definitely the place to stay. Plenty of pools, restaurants, amenities and most of all a super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. 5 star experience.

Nightlife hint

30 secs away from the hotel you have the night club in the 20th floor.

Excellent hotel in a good position

Would recommend Fri, Jul 22, 2011
Excellent hotel. Staff on reception were very welcoming, and despite arriving over 2 hours earlier than room ready checkin, our room was available. Breakfast is perfect and a huge choice, including sparkling wine, English style bacon and sausage. Egg station does omelettes, fried eggs and poached eggs. We were in a deluxe plus room on the 6th floor. Very comfortable, excellent air con and spacious with a super king size bed. It was comfortable but only 2 small pillows each weren't enough - we had to ask for more. One tip - don't have a pool view room if you go to bed before midnight. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights there are weddings, functions and parties directly under the pool view rooms. The band is VERY loud even with the patio door shut and the TV on. Talking about the TV, there's a good enough choice of English programmes and there was also a DVD player. We sunbathed each day around the pool furthest from the hotel - the Merkanti Beach Club. It was right on the sea edge so caught the breeze which was very much needed as the temperatures were between 34C and 37C each day. It didn't fill up until after 11am which is great considering we were there in mid July. You could always get sunbeds. A major downside to the hotel is the price of drinks and wifi. A bottle of water at the pool is €4.10 and alcohol prices throughout the hotel are eye popping. We like Hilton hotels but do find it annoying that they charge exhorbitant prices for wifi. We didn't bother as some people told us that the signal is very hit and miss and one man did request a refund. The majority of the local cafes, bars and restaurants have free wifi so we always used that (the Crows Nest pub is very fast and the booze is cheap!). St Julians is a nice place with plenty of restaurants. The ones at the marina and harbour are a little more expensive but both are lovely places to eat. Our favourite restaurant was Sardinella - excellent food, cheap prices and 25% discount if you go in before 7.30pm. All in all an excellent holiday in a top class hotel.

Attractions

Get the open top Malta Sightseeing bus which stops outside the hotel in the morning. €15 means you can hop on and hop off all day. We got off at Valletta, walked about for a bit and then picked the bus up again at the harbour. We got off again at the Craft Village and a town called Mosta, then continued the north route around the island. You're give earphones so you can listen to commentary on where you are. A nice day out catching a lovely breeze on the top of the bus!
