Posh and plush

Hotel looks like a huge business hotel from the outside, but the amenities are 5 star in every way. We arrived Christmas eve, and they have a wonderful pianist and marvelous singer in the lobby. Fabulous breakfast, and loved the room with its balcony and table. Had coffee made in my room while enjoying the view. Close to the beach, and a 10 minute walk to busy St. Julian's which is very lively.

Not a real 5 star hotel

Fantastic staff made the difference. The first room we were given was not good......overlooking street and parking with only a glimpse of the ocean. Took a hour to find a good room and another 30 euros/ day. Then breakfast was not included. Additional 15 euros each....never have been to a hotel in Europe nor. 5 star hotel that breakfast was not included!!!! No shuttle to airport but this may be because of the taxi "agreements". The food was good but the best was at their sister hotel the Marina.."great pizza and bistro was excellent. Nothing close otherwise to eat w/o 20 euro taxi one way. We did use city buses and they were fine.

An ideal getaway!

Although they were unable to meet our request for a sea-view upgrade, our city view room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and above all quiet! Breakfast was a veritable feast, the pools were perfect and service overall as expected from a 5 star hotel. The downside was the limited bust routes, although there was a courtesy bus, we used public transport very easily. The restaurants attached to the hotel were not expensive, and it was a short walk to St Georges Bay and St Julians. We would definitely stay there again!

anniversary celebration

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. I e-mailed the hotel before we went and asked if they could upgrade us to a seaview as i was unable to book this particular room when i booked with e-bookers. When we arrived at reception we were told we had been upgraded to an executive room with seaview free of charge as it was a special occassion and when we got to our room they had made us an anniversary cake and given us a bottle of wine. The hotel staff were very helpful, especially Robert who had arranged our taxi transfers for us before we got out there and helped us to arrange an open top bus trip which was great. Lovely hotel and lovely staff and in a great position for exploring St. Julians, which was only a 5 minute walk away.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Maltese wine is very drinkable and very reasonably priced at about 10 euros a bottle. Dont buy their imported wines, not worth it. Also their meat is very expensive as they import it all. There are lots of pasta/pizza places to eat as malta is highly influenced by Italy due to its close proximity to Sicily and very reasonable prices too.
