Convenient for town

This is a conveniently located hotel for Georgetown, with efficient, friendly staff. The room was comfortable and of a good size, but was looking a little tired. I enjoyed the swimming pool, and breakfast was good.

Great location, Great hotel!

The hotel was beautiful, no dought. The fower was big & new, the staff were absolutley fantastic & so friendly. One of the best tips that we got from staff was that we could catch their shuttle bus to one of their other sister hotels, The Golden Sands Resort, and we could sunbake & swim in the pool there which i have to say was so much better than the Traders pool. It was like a tropical resort with two massive pools, palm trees banana lounges and soft grass. Right behind our hotel was a big bus station which was good & there were two shopping centres. One night I requested a firm pillow from the staff which was perfect, but i have to say their linen wasn`t up to the star standard they say they are. We had a great time in Penang & at Traders & would recommend it to anyone.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Well for all you shoppers out there, the only shopping you must not miss is GURNEY PLAZA. There is a shoe shop there called Charles & Keith on the bottom floor, just heaven!!!!!

Based on what I saw while walking around the area, it seems like we made the right choice in picking this hotel. Walkable distance from all Georgetown attractions, but you really do have to walk to get to anything. The room was nice, clean, modern (except for the TV and TV channel options but who is watching TV on vacation?!); the small hotel bar was also very friendly and the staff was attentive. The one thing I didn't enjoy so much was that there was not much around the area which wasn't the best when you were looking for something close by for dinner.

Convenient and great value

Hotel is conveniently located. I like to walk so within 5 to 10 minutes I could be in local temples, and it's about 30 minutes walk to Cheong Fatt Tze M ansion. This is in a location that allowed us to get the best value for our money. This is, however not in the center of the touristic area. This is also why we liked it becaue there are some genuine food places nearby that serve delicious food (try Townview Seafood Cafe at 11 Jalan Macalister), this is local food so if you want a hamburger, go to ferringhi / tourist trap area. There also is a shopping center adjacent and a supermarket that has fresh bakery and pastries (about 4 to 5 times cheaper compared to US prices). If you want luxury, this is not a 5 star but this is a great value for 4 stars and close to Georgetown's highlights.
