Pulau Langkawi is the largest in an archipelago of 99 islands, 30 kilometers off the northwestern coast of mainland Malaysia. Magnificent natural surroundings—including a 10 million-year-old rainforest and an 8,000-year-old fringing coral reef—and exemplary service are our hallmarks. Boasting rare wildlife and exotic flora, The Andaman Resorts magnificent locale enables guests to partake in a wide range of nature-based activities while still enjoying the opulence of a five-star resort. From savoring the gourmet delights in the world-class restaurants, playing a round of golf, to exploring the ancient Gunung Mat Chinchang rainforest and rustic villages, the choices are endless. Or simply relax on the pristine white sands, succumb to decadent pampering in the spa, or sip a cocktail by the crystalline pool and let the days drift by. Replenish yourself at the award-winning V Botanical Spa, located atop a hill with panoramic views of the sea. The 178 exquisite rooms and magnificently appointed suites reflect a contemporary Malaysian style, with sweeping views over the beckoning Andaman Sea, treetops, or pristine rainforest. Great place to relax

Although I haven't done a lot of 'beach resort' vacations, the Andaman made everything convenient and was wonderful for relaxation. Don't expect a lot of attractions on the island of Langkawi; 1-2 days should cover everything there is to do, and the scuba diving was only average (at least in January). Go here to relax on a minimally crowded beautiful beach. Also the Andaman seems to have more guests than the Datai, which was mostly deserted when we went (although the staff at the Datai paid us a lot of attention as they were fully staffed when we ate dinner there... we didn't like this). Service was inconsistent - some language barriers or confusion with some staff, but excellent service from others.

The breakfast buffet, and special buffets (Thai and Seafood) were good, but the regular ones didn't seem worth it. Try the Japanese restaurant for a nice change, it felt the most formal and refined of all the restaurants.

Secluded, good for a peaceful getaway

Suitable for those looking for privacy and peace & quiet. As the hotel & beach is beautiful and secluded. Shower room flooded and hotel forgotten to provide floor mat. But house keeping quick to come and clean up the shower. Jazz band at the lobby lounge played very good music. Only flaw is finger food served at the lounge was below average in taste.
