Somerset Ampang Kuala Lumpur

We stayed at Somerset Ampang from the 2nd day of opening of this property. Location is good and close by to the shopping areas and eateries. Area is quiet and safe. Most of the facilities were not ready as expected but we enjoyed the ambience and hospitality.

Very nice brand new hotel, which is expected of a hotel that has just opened for less than one month in December 2010!. Rooms are very stylish and modern, well fitted with all the essentials including proper showers, washer, dryer and HD TVs. Since this is a brand new hotel, there is still some small works still under construction, but these did not affect our stay at Somerset Ampang. One interesting thing we noticed was that breakfast, which was quite good, was served in another hotel room. I would suspect this is just temporary arrangement while they complete construction of their restaurant/dining hall. All-in-all we were thrilled with our stay somerset ampang.

Very good facilities. Not far away from the LRT station. Breakfast is simple. More suitable for families that would stay there for a little while and do the cooking and laundry by themselves.

We had a great stay. The breakfast was a little busy, Will be good when a proper eating area is set up. Also children's playground and wading pool not completed. Apart from this fantastic place. Famtastic staff.

We arrived at Somerset for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment Wow they had everything you could think of... wi-fi, flatscreen TV's (bedroom and lounge), iPod docks/alarm clocks, an awesome bathroom with a view of KL. amazing I have read some people complaining about the location. I dont understand this as you are pretty much a 10 minute walk away from KLCC and if you dont want to walk the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to KLCC and the Pavilion is only a 5/6 ringgit taxi drive away. £1.20 So the location was a not an issue. The roof pool was great and a stunning view over the city maybe not the biggest pool around but they have done the best they could have with the space. The gym is well equipped and plenty of space too. Overall we loved it here. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way everytime to help us whenever we asked. will be back loved this place 100%

Cons: Gym/Pool are left unmanned and extremely dangerous. More gym equipments are needed and jacuzzi pool is suppose to be heated and not to be as cold as the pool. Heated pool would be nice though. Breakfast is pathetic as well and hosted in room 1313. Variety sucks and no service at breakfast at all, everything DIY. Bathtub/shower hot water on/off at times. All in all, hotel seems understaffed, undermanned and being rushed to open despite already 1mth in service. Pros: Very good service staff at lobby and is well docorated. Room extremely clean and the kitchenette very well stock up with huge fridge and modern washing machine. Pillow/bed are soft and comfortable with TV channels very comprehensive. Extremely value for money for its introductory offer and if its gone, i am not sure if i would pay more for my stays.

Breakfast was too bad.I was dissapointed.
