Genting in the Mountains

We went to Genting to get away, and just visit the amusement park and the mountain top view. It was a good room. It needed to be cleaner smelling and the room could of been cleaner. I got a world suite room. The bathtub was too small for a tall man like me, but the shower was nice. The hotel receptionist didn't see that my reservation was in the records, because of mis spelling so I spent fourty minutes trying to figure that out. I was not too happy about that. We didn't order any room service or anything. All the TV channels are in Malaysian haha. So don't plan on watching much if you don't speak it fluently. This trip was not so good compared to other trips i've taken around the world, but its better than nothing!!

The most terrifying hotel experience

We had stayed at this hotel before and so knew it was only average accommodation but this experience was far worse than previous. Firstly our booking had been incorrectly put down as being for one person and [...]tried to remedy this with the hotel. We received an email from [...]to say the booking was now correct and there would be no charge for the extra two people. However when we got to the hotel we were told they had no record of the change. They agreed to allow three people in the room but refused to give us breakfast for my son, instead charged us $10 a day for it. We were given a room on the 24th floor which overlooked the theme park. We were happy with this till we got in and found it smelt and the bathroom was leaking. We settled in for a rest to be woken by fire alarms and people running down the corridor screaming. I thought that was it, stuck on the 24th floor as the building burnt. We went into the corridor to be told that they were only testing the alarms and lighting and no need to be alarmed. Now surely some warning should have been given to ensure there was not mass panic. I was really nervous about going back to my room.the Genting concept is a good one but they have let the place run down. Many of the rides in the theme park were closed, food was expensive and substandard and overall it was not a great experience.

Hainen Express is a nice restaurant with reasonable food. Avoid the asian food court as it is the same price as the restaurants and nowhere near as good
