Good Value

Staff friendly and helpful, accomadated many requests for late room service with no trouble. Afternoon tea buffet quite acceptable, valet was able to get me a taxi fairly efficiently, I also used the lobby computer many times for about $7 usd per hour. One problem was the distant location - about a 15-20 minute walk from the Grand Lisboa and the central shopping and gambling area.

Good place

The room was nice and a good size. There was construction going on while we were there, and the fitness room and pool were closed. That was a little disappointing. Most of the staff was very good. One thing was a negative: we did not have the included breakfast package, and we had to pay for the breakfast buffet when we went into the hotel restaurant. While we were still eating, the waitress brought us our bill and asked us to pay it right away. This happened both days we were there. That was a little offputting - they could have waited for us to finish eating. Other than that the hotel was quite good.

Away from the glitz

The hotel was situated away from the main Casino district which was really nice for someone who wasn't there to gamble. Within walking distance was the Guia Lighthouse, Senado Square, St. Paul's Ruins and much more. The only downer about the Hotel was that when I was there, the pool and fitness centre were under renovation.

NICE HOTEL

I ENJOYED MY STAY, THE ROOM WAS COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN APART FROM A MINUTE AMOUNT OF MOLD IN THE SHOWER GROUTING WHICH SHOULD BE ATTENDED TO FOR HEALTH REASONS. I ATE IN THE LOUNGE EACH DAY AND ALTHOUGH THE BREAKFAST WAS A BIT SPARSE FOR CHOICE IT WAS WELL PREPARED AND VERY CLEAN, THE STAFF WERE VERY GOOD, HELPFUL AND POLITE. THEY DID ALLOW PEOPLE TO SMOKE IN PARTS OF THE LOUNGE AND THAT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE SO HAD TO LEAVE A COUPLE OF TIMES TO ESCAPE THE ODOUR, THEY NEED TO CLEAN THAT UP

Definitely oversold and underdelivered

The hotel was well booked through the Chinese National Holiday and therefore the rates were quite expensive. We got a very small room (1624 ) right next to the elevators. The first night was a nightmare because of the noise created by the elevators as well as some other noise were not even the staff could tell were it was coming from. Then we moved rooms but no upgrade nor a small treatment because of the really bad experience made so far. The second night was ok but nothing special. Could also be a three-star hotel. When we checked out and mentioned again the happenings of the first night there was no reacction by the staff at all. As a last real bad experience we wanted to leave some postcards at the reception to be sent out and they really told us that it is not possible. What a five-star hotel. I would personally recommend every traveller rather to stay at another hotel.

Reasonable for the price paid,

Reasonable for the price paid, there is room for improvement but it was still okay and though it was a bit of a walk to the main part of the town, it was not considered entirely inaccessible, worth looking at for a place to stay in macau
