Nice budget hotel

Would recommend Sun, Jun 8, 2014
Perhaps I'm easily pleased because I normally stay in hostels with 4 other random people in the same room. But, considering that Macau doesn't really have any hostels, and this is one of the cheaper hotels, it was worth the money. The front desk staff was polite and helpful. The room was small (big enough for the bed itself and very narrow walk way), but it was clean. It had everything I could ask for — a decent place to sleep — after all, I'm not visiting Macau to stay in a hotel. As for some of the minor downsides to the hotel — the initial search for the hotel. I can't really fault this hotel on this one, more so it's a problem of the Macau layout. Street names can be somewhat hard to spot and very similar to many other road names. The hotel itself was in a very good area with a convenience store and some restaurants out front. Oh, and there is no laundry service at the hotel. Though there is service across the street. Other than that, the hotel was pleasant.

Money saver

Go down the street to a convenience store to grab a bus card. The buses are super cheap in Macau and will take you everywhere. You can return the card to the card company (location on the back of the card) to get your deposit back. But, if you have leftover money on the card, then you won't get that back. You can also use the card at certain stores.

Front Desk Staff Needs to Impose Some Order

Would recommend Thu, Mar 6, 2014
Loved the room and amenities! Very comfortable and bigger than expected for the price. Asked for a 300 HKD deposit at check-in that was quickly returned at check-out. Staff was nice for the most part. The cleaning staff in particular was pleasant. A breakfast buffet is available for 30 HKD. Not the greatest selection, but good enough for the price. All prices were in HKD and went up if paid in MOP which was somewhat annoying. The location is OK. Major tourist attractions are not far away, but Macau is very hilly so getting from place to place can tire you out. Bus stop is not far from the hotel and taxis are cheap. Biggest complaint and why I cannot whole heartedly recommend this hotel is that the front desk staff (and only them, rest of the staff was very friendly) were poorly trained in customer service. Front desk was run mainland China style: whoever pushes their way to the front and gets the staff's attention first gets helped. I would recommend the hotel staff see how other Macau and Hong Kong hotels and businesses deal with this behavior. Just trying to pay for breakfast was an excercise in frustration as the staff ignored me in favor of whoever could push their way in front of me and yell for their attention the loudest.

Few of the local restaurants are open for breakfast and the hotel breakfast doesn't start until 8:30am. If you are starting your day early there is a 7-Eleven nearby and McDonalds is a short walk away.
