Recently stayed at the Hilton Nairobi during a business trip. I have stayed at other hotels in Nairobi. Hotel is very dated, older and in need a complete renovation. While the facilities were average at best; there were some pros and cons. Pro:
great hotel gym, pool area on the second floor was a nice oasis in the middle of the city, and hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Cons: rooms were clean but dated, bed was very hard, free internet is only available in the lobby and pool area (but access code annoyingly expires every 8 hours and to top it off half the codes do not work), finally a $25 USD buffet is the only breakfast option other than room service. I will not stay there again.
Sorry to say, but this hotel would qualify as a decent 2-star at best, if it were compared with European standards. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. This is why I rated it with 2 stars. Everything else badly needs a thorough refit.
Everything worked as expected. The rooms are not big but quite nice. The gym is small but has decent facilities. The Travellers' restaurant was surprisingly nice; I would definitely recomment giving it a try. There is nothing spectacular about the
hotel but its all around quite good.
I enjoyed my stay in the Hilton Nairobi. It included a full cook to order egg breakfast with lots of sides. Nice pool and workout room. I was just there overnight as I was waiting for my air connection.
