Still under construction
The lobby area has been re-done and is super nice. Check in took a while as we had to wait for someone to escort us to our room, which I thought was weird, but then I discovered that much of the hotel is still under construction, so it was a slight maze getting to the room (our room was in a hall of rooms that had been re-done). The room was very nice, though a little small for a 4/5 star place, and when we first walked in, it smelled heavily of smoke, although I had requested a non-smoking room. King bed, flat panel TV, mini fridge, safe. Very nice bathroom, although the water got very warm, it didn't get as hot as I like when I had it on the hottest setting. Plenty of towels and a terry robe to use. Shower gel, shampoo, lotion - all the basics (but no conditioner) supplied in bathroom. Also had hot water kettle and complimentary bottle of water with tea bags in case you wanted to make tea, and a plate of fruit (3 red delicious apples). We only stayed here b/c we had an early flight in the AM. The airport shuttle was great - was there right on time to take us to our terminal. Breakfast however, was gross. The room they have the buffet set up in is gigantic and hasn't been remodeled yet. There were a lot of choices - but none that we wanted - the worst breakfast on our entire trip. It included hardboiled eggs (almost all were cracked), roasted potatoes (only thing that looked good), sausages, fried beans, hummus, deli meats. No fruit or juice. The only bread item offered (with jam and butter) was pita, but US-type packaged, stale pita, nothing like the fresh, great stuff we had elsewhere on our trip. Breakfast was an extra cost, so I would highly recommend not getting it - just pick up something at the airport or at the fancy cafe area of the hotel lobby (which had food that actually looked appealing; odd that none of it was in the neighboring buffet room) to tide you over until you are fed on your flight. Due to high cost of this hotel per night, would only recommend staying here if you need to be near the airport.
