It was shocking for me to be asked

It was shocking for me to be asked to pay 2000 Yen/hour for three hours if I wanted to check-in at 11 am (I had reached Yokohama after a 12 hour journey from India!). I had never expected this sort of behvior from an Intercontinental Hotel! I will never choose an I/C Hotel again!

Only a couple of grudges. Found

Only a couple of grudges. Found a half drunken orange juice in the fridge which was part of the mini bar stock. Also the tv was quite old being Japan where all the tv's are made thought it would have had a more modern tv in the room. All in all a nice hotel in a great location with nice views. Price of the Restraunts were very expensive but nevertheless good in taste..Was upgraded to the 29th floor but room wasnt much different to the basic ones..

Excellent Hotel in Yokohama.

Hotel was excellent, very good service, spotless rooms and a fantastic view of the bay. The hotel was also near a metro station so getting around the city or to the main train station to go out of the city was easy. The walk is about 5-10 minutes to the metro. The staff all seemed to speak at least basic English so there was no problem communicating. My wife and I got room service the first night we were there because we were just to tired to go out and the food was good. We ate at the breakfast buffet the two mornings we were there, that while a bit pricey ($34) was huge and the best breakfast buffet we found in Japan. We stayed in 4 different hotels in Japan and this was by far our favorite. Can't recommend it enough.

Good Value in Yokohama

The room had a great view. The window does open a bit which was good because climate control was bit spotty. The room was a good size (by Japanese standards) and very light and airy. Convenient to the subway.

Great location. Once you get

Great location. Once you get out at Minato Mirai station you can walk thru shopping centre and under a covered walkway to hotel. Great for nights when it's snowing. The hotel itself charged shocking prices for it's bar fridge contents. Each can of beer was 700 yen. A tiny packet of peanuts 500 yen. Worse was to come. If you wanted a shirt washed and dried it was 600 yen. You receive it back at 6pm that evening. Jeans or trousers 600-700 yen. Okay you have a nice view but . . .

Surprising delight

The location and public areas in this hotel is very nice for business, but even as a vacation destination for a night or two. The hotel is on the water and close to an overwhelming amount of shopping, and amusements in Yokahama Japan. Not the most beautiful area of Japan, but good for a night or so. The room in the hotel was a bit stark for the area, and must cater to business people more than for pleasure. The hotel was busy and has a lot of restaurant options. Staff is friendly and multi-lingual.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

If coming in to Yokahama station, take a short Taxi ride to the hotel, the walk is difficult and longer than you may think.

Unbelievable Views!

I booked a sea view room and I was completely amazed by the views (of the bay and city skyline). There were literally chairs facing the window with a table in between. The only drawback is that the Shinkansen station (bullet train) is a bit of a hike.
