Stuffy room, but decent hotel

Rooms are completely closed in (can't open the window even a crack) and you have no control over the heat/AC temperature. This results in a pretty stuffy feeling to the room. Located right on top of the Sunshine City mall which is great during business hours, but other than the convenince store on the 1st floor, there are no real options for late night food/drink without walking 10 minutes or so back towards Ikebukuro station.

Can't control room temperature

The only negative comment I have is about the room air conditioner. You cannot control the temperature, only the fan speed. The hotel is very convenient to get to and out, close to lot of restaurants and shops. Staff is very friendly and speak English. As any Japanese would, they will go out of their way to accommodate you.

Very basic necessities

My biggest pet peeve is hotel rooms without windows to open, and no noticeable ventilation. My room was a stuffy box. The bed had a thin mattress and the alarm didn't work. Next time I'll spend a bit more for a better quality place. The location is great, though.

Good for the price

Check in and out was quite easy, as well as getting tickets for the airport limosine bus. This is great location, and a great price (if you stay for more than 5 nights). We had tons of stores and restaurants to choose from. The mall people are very helpful and friendly and try to accomodate those that dont speak the language. Tons of Raman noodels and sushi places around there, as well as tons of bars. We tried the Mexican place called El Torrito, it was pretty decent. It was an experience to have Mexican food in Japan. The Metro is close by, as well as a great store called Tokyo Hands. Excellent location. Great night life. Great people watching. Try the crazy crepes... DELISH!
