A great budget place in Central Tokyo
David world-traveler Oct 20, 2009
It was a great hotel. The staff were friendly. The rooms are small, but I think that is standard for Japanese Hotels, and ... this is really close to Shinjuku station which lets you easily travel to anywhere in the city and head to the airport by the JR express train. (That is a big plus because travel to the airport takes at least 90 minutes, so who wants to spend another 45 minutes just to get to the train station?) The rooms were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Also, if you've never experienced a Japanese toilet before, you have a nice surprise coming your way. It works just like a Western toilet, but has a few extra electronic features. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

It's also near the hotel from the movie Lost in Translation, and one of my fav. memories from Tokyo was walking there and having cocktails in the bar from the movie, and looking out from the 53rd floor at all of Tokyo at night.

This hotel was very enjoyable. The location was perfect! There was a subway station right next door, the JR station was ... only 1 block away, a Citibank ATM was right next door, a post office across the street, and many restaurants and bars that stayed open late. The hotel staff was very helpful and provided us with a list of recommended restaurants with a map. The room was a little small, but for Japan, it was pretty decent. The rooms were clean and the lobby was very beautiful. We didn't try the restaurant at the hotel but it seemed very elegant and nice.

Public transportation is the only way to travel in Japan, so with the hotel so close to the stations, it really saved us a lot of time.

Great Location, Small Room

A nice hotel with a beautiful lobby. Close to the Shinjuku line, it is loacted ideally when visiting the area. The rooms are ... small and the staff are professional but not very friendly. However, this is a very nice hotel at a good price.

Shopping is within a 5 minute walk. The train station is also there. Lots of shopping and restaurants including a 24 hour McDonald's for the hungry traveler still adjusting to the time change.

Hotel is in perfect location--5 min to Shinjuku Train station, Area mall, coffee shops, etc. SUPER Friendly staff. Good ... breakfast at a decent hotel price. Internet inside room a plus, and free beverages in lounge area...cant beat this place for the price in Tokyo.

There are many dining options within 5-15 min walking from hotel....just ask lobby staff and they will give you a paper map with names/directions.

Reasonable choice for area
Andrew Aug 31, 2008
Our room was tiny, though immaculately maintained. We had a small double bed for two people and no place to put our clothes ... (I ended up storing my clothes on the floor at the foot of the bed). I also was disappointed by the lack of fitness facility and tiny business center, surprising in such a large hotel. On the other hand, the staff were efficient and friendly (and offered an umbrella during the rainy week we stayed), the hotel common spaces beautiful, and the location unbeatable. For the price paid, I would most certainly return.

Walk up the stairs across from the hotel to the Southern Terrace - there, you have instant access to a wealth of dining and drinking options.
