Convenient location

The hotel is perfectly located, across from the shinagawa station. However, they shoukd have put more signs for the direction to the hotel. We were so close to the hotel, meaning we could see the hotel already, yet we were not sure which way was the entrance. Even asking the worker at the closed by shop did not get the right direction.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Dining at the 37th floor was great. The steak was excellent and the price is quite reasonable. But the breakfast to me is kind of pricey.

Concierge staff very helpful

The location across from the Shinagawa train station was very useful. There are several good western restaurants nearby. The rooms are small. I wouldn't pay extra again for the higher room. We followed the green cleaning schedule and used the 500 YEN per day for some souvenirs. Don't miss the gardens by the Grand Prince Hotel.

Head for the Heights!

For a modest surcharge we upgraded rooms to the higher tower. View is brilliant...especially if you love trains!Food services inside were pricey but using the supermarket across street one could reduce expense.

Good location

Hotel location is very convinient to train station and subway. Very convinient if you are going to Haneda airport. For Narita airport, it's a bit further than most other downtown hotel. Great city view at night!

Prince stay

our 2nd stay at the Prince.we stayed there 11 years ago.We noticed that it needs a remodel since the last visit. The location is the best.Train station accross the street, a great coffee shop downstairs and lots of shopping on the property. plus a mall accross the street at the train station.Resteraunts galore what 7 of them maybe?Aside of the need for a remodel it is highly reguarded by the wife and I we will come back.

Great Hotel, So-So Location

They couldn't accommodate our request for a double since we booked through this site, so that was a negative, but the place was clean and comfortable and totally did the job. Rooms are also comparatively big (for Tokyo). Lots of options for shopping and eating close by, but not particularly close to the main urban centers in Tokyo. Still, taking the train there isn't a big deal and doesn't take long. Not a lot of English is spoken here, or anywhere in Japan for that matter, just be aware.

Shingawa Prince Tokyo

This was a "no-frills" Tokyo hotel room. It was quite small and to save cost we had "double beds" - which were about the size of my childhood bunk beds next to each other. The beds were also very hard. This is all very typical of Tokyo though. The hotel was located in a shopping area with plenty of shops and eating options. The in-hotel eating options were mainly buffet and quite expensive (4,000 Yen for two). There were several ammenities in the hotel, though we didn't really use any of them (not our thing), but they looked very well appointed. It was located accross the street from the SHINAGAWA rail station - which meant you hand complete access to the whole city from a short 5 min walk. The staff didn't quite seem to understand the concept of a "cash advance" to the room to allow you to get cash - cuased us to go through considerably more of the travel cash we had brought to get from hotel to hotel than we expected.
