Concierge staff very helpful

The location across from the Shinagawa train station was very useful. There are several good western restaurants nearby. The rooms are small. I wouldn't pay extra again for the higher room. We followed the green cleaning schedule and used the 500 YEN per day for some souvenirs. Don't miss the gardens by the Grand Prince Hotel.

Always a great getaway

I've been staying at this property every visit to Japan. To me, you can not beat it's location. It is located right across the Shinagawa Station. From there you have access to the JR railways, Keikyu lines and even the Tōkaidō Shinkansen (high speed railway). The staff can speak English well and are very attentive to your needs. You have a convenience store, food court and even the Epson Shinagawa Aqua Stadium and other attractions. Amenities are pretty much standard and rooms are very nice and clean. You have to understand that in Japan the rooms are a little smaller than what you are used to so don't expect to really "stretch out" after you unpack. Closet space are not that big so you may end up keeping some things in your suitcase. At this time there is NO room service so you do have to go out for dinner. The hotel has some very nice Japanese restaurants along with others that serve American style food. The rooms do have paid internet access and there are vending machines on every floor. Overall for me it is a good value and I can save extra "yen" to buy gifts to take home.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The restaurants have great food. But staying in Japan is already expensive. The food court in the hotel has great food for a good value. How it works is you choose a stall you want to order from. Go to that vending machine and pay, then receive the ticket. Give that ticket to the vendor and he will give you a pager. From there you can find a table. When the pager goes off your food is ready.

Head for the Heights!

For a modest surcharge we upgraded rooms to the higher tower. View is brilliant...especially if you love trains!Food services inside were pricey but using the supermarket across street one could reduce expense.

Good location

Hotel location is very convinient to train station and subway. Very convinient if you are going to Haneda airport. For Narita airport, it's a bit further than most other downtown hotel. Great city view at night!

The hotel is excellently located

The hotel is excellently located near Shinagawa Station. As this was our first trip to Japan, we found this to be to be very convenient for sightseeing. Our twin room was located in the main tower, had excellent amenities and was very clean and spacious. Would recommend the Green Cleaning service, where you receive a gift voucher for 500 yen per person (redeemable at any of the hotel shops or restaurants) in lieu of daily room clean. Also the 7/11 store just outside the hotel is great for picking up cheap meals. Would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location. Literally

Brilliant location. Literally a two minute walk from the Shinagawa JR train station which is a main rail hub and can get you almost anywhere in both Tokyo and Japan. The room was clean, admittedly the hotel is beginning to show its age, the room was certainly not big, but for a hotel room it was fine, I was only in it to sleep.
