Lot of bang for the buck

This place is perfect for the budget traveler. It was comfortable, clean and the staff was very helpful. The price was great for Tokyo and for being only 10 minutes by train away from some other major stations. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Value

For the price, it doesn't get much better. Sure the rooms are small, but it's just somewhere to sleep. Direct access to both airports via subway and easy access to anywhere else with 2 nearby stations. Very friendly staff add to a pleasant stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything you need in a good location.

Friendly staff. 2 train lines nearby. I train stop away from Akihabara (and without the train it's only a 15-20 minute walk away.). The room has everything you need including internet, fridge, air conditioning, toilet and shower.

Basic hotel amenities with great location

The hotel provides basic amenities. However they could improve by providing better bed comforters as the weather was rather cold at night and the room was cold without good bed comforters. We stayed there on May 21-23 and resumed on May 25-26. When we returned for check-in on May 25 we were given the same room number and to our horror the room was left untouched and not cleaned since we left there. The bedsheets, towels and rubbish were still in the same position. Apparently we thought that it might be caused by the "do not disturb" sign that we accidentally left on the key knob after we have checked out previously. There seem to have a miscommunication between the housekeeping and the reception as our room was not cleaned after we have checked out on May 24.

More than a 2 Star Hotel

I really enjoyed my stay here in March 2014. The room was small but I am single so it was actually enough for me. My room was clean upon arrival and clean when I returned from my days out. The staff was friendly and the hotel is in a great location near the Yanagbishi station. The are surrounding the hotel is nice as well. It's near a river with boats you can pay for a dinner cruise. There are views of Tokyo and the Tokyo Sky Tree across the bridge. There are many restuarants depening on your tastes in the area. The hotel in close to Akihabara and a few museums. The hotel is basic. There is no breakfast offered but there are convenience stores near with OJ and snacks and fruits offered from street vendors. I packed some pop tarts and granola bars for breakfast and I ate other meals out. I will definantly try and stay here again when/if I return to Tokyo. Great location and no problems at all. I even got a little gift as I was checking out for staying there. First time that's ever happened.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Directions to the hotel could be better. When you exit the Yanigbashi Station use the east exit and turn right. Walk under the train underpass and walk one more block. At the intersection turn to face left and cross the highway and the hotel will be on your right one street over. Very short walk. I was glad I had a photo of the outside of the hotel to help me find it or I would have had a tough time. The directions I had just said exit the train station and walk three minutes.

Had a great stay

I don't know why this hotel only has gotten two stars but I had a very nice stay here and no complaints. The room was clean when i arrived and clean when I returned from being out and about around tokyo during the day. The room was small but as I was traveling along it was big enough for me. The hotel is in a perfect area near Akihabara, Ueno and if you walk around you get good views of the city and the Tokyo Sky Tree across the bridge. I was originally looking at a hotel in Odaiba with views of the rainbow bridge and tokyo bay but I'm glad I didn't as it would have been a little more of a bear getting around. This hotel may be for budget travelers which I am. it doesn't have a breakfast or have a resturant in it. I would rather save money to spend out in the city than spend a bunch on a hotel. There are plenty of restaurants around and convenience stores for water and drinks you can put in the rooms min-fridge if needed. The staff is small but nice and helpful with questions I had about the area. In closing for me I had no complaints and would stay here again for convenience sakes and comfort.

Warm welcome and comfy bed

The rooms are small but adequate. The hotel has good facilities and the staff are friendly and helpful. A good location to start exploring Tokyo from, due to its proximity to both train and subway lines. There are quite a lot of dining options in the area as well, serving Japanese, Chinese and even western food. Nearby are a lot of small shops selling craft supplies, clothes, food, souvenirs and more.

Fits a budget

Yangibasi was clean and safe. The room was basic but big enough for me. It was near a subway line, though one that often required transferring to get where I wanted to go. It's near the Asuksa district, but you will want to ride the subway to get there. In short, it was a great deal for the price as long as you are fine with basic but sufficient accomodation. I was trying to decide between a hostel/guesthouse and a cheap hotel room, and I'm glad I found Yangibasi.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Visiting Sensoji Temple was my favorite part of my time in Tokyo. It's about a half hour walk from the hotel, or you can jump on the subway for two stops. During the day the streets leading up to the temple are lined with vendors, creating a lively atmosphere. I went back at night after everything was closed up and it was peaceful and quiet. A beautiful temple!
