It was a good room during our vacation

The room was very clean and staff were always nice. The breakfast was small and nothing special. Sadly the scrambled eggs were very watery and sometimes the meat was cold. The location was good, very short walk from a nice shopping street that had one of our favorite restaurants. However it is all small shops and restaurants so they don't really speak English but you can find ways around it. Also a short walk from a subway station. Average walk to the JR station but after long days or with luggage it seems a lot longer. Another few shopping streets and arcades near the JR station. Also a Lawsons near the hotel which is nice for a small meal or snack.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Down the shopping street is a small little restaurant that has the food displayed in the window with ice cream on the top shelf. The food is amazing, the ice cream is heavenly and the cost is just insanely low for the WONDERFUL quality. And the man and woman who run it are very nice despite not knowing English! Though we have no idea the hours, sometimes we went and it was closed but 2 magical times it was open!

Christmas in Tokyo

The hotel overall was good. Friendly staff always willing to help. Breakfast was average (eggs toasts, juice....) 10 minute walk to the Okachimachi Station. 10 min drive to the Keisei Station (Keisei Skyliner about 45 min to Narita) Room is a bit small but the only real problem is that the bed was SUPER HARD!

Lovely stay

Lovely hotel. Close to train station, some basic shopping. Hotel is very clean. Room is small, but it is Japan. But it has everything you could want. Breakfast buffet is very basic, but it's free and just fine Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it Shop around on different sites for best value, it greatly fluctuates

An elegant and affordable hotel

I was in Tokyo for my first time to do three days of sightseeing. This hotel met my needs. My room was a little small, but that is to be expected in the world's largest city in which space is at a premium. My room was nicely appointed. The room design and furnishings are aesthetically appealing, as is the stone and plant garden at the base of the atrium. The room fee includes a breakfast buffet that includes eggs, small meat servings, bread, rolls, soup, juice, and a few other things. The tv only had 12 channels, but I din't know how typical that is for Tokyo Hotels. The staff are friendly and helpful. They can assist you with your recreational activities, especially if they are in the immediate vicinity. The hotel has several racks of helpful tourist information. The general location within Tokyo is great, with all of Ueno Park's attractions about a mile away. Many people will approach this hotel from the Ueno Station, and it is about a 20-minute walk. It is not easy your first time out of the station to get oriented, although there is a helpful tourist information desk in the station. A taxi would probably have no trouble finding the hotel, and if you have the hotel name name in Japanese to show the driver, that is all the better. The Shinokachimachi metro station is just two blocks from the hotel, but you would have to change trains to get on this line and that could be a little daunting for a first time visitor. The immediate area around the hotel has several restaurants and convenience stores and is a pleasant neighborhood to walk around in. There is also a bicycle rental operation near the hotel (see the hotel's neighborhood map). You can rent a bicycle all day for less than $3--this is a real bargain in an expensive city. The bikes are easy to ride, have built in locks, and baskets. This hotel represents good value for the money, and I would definitely stay there again.

Location is great for staging point

Location is central enough and close to train lines to allow easy access to most of the places you will want to go while in Tokyo. The room is big enough for one person especially when only using it for sleep and preparing for the day. Beds are firm and clean, and room is new, well maintained, and comfortable. Staff are helpful and friendly.
