Fantastic for sightseeing

I had a very pleasant stay in the Hotel Villa Fontaine Kayabacho. Whilst in a business district and away from all the real "touristy" places, this wasn't a great issue for me. It is located about 3 mins walk from Kayabacho metro station which was a great plus for being able explore Tokyo and its many districts. It was also only about 10 mins walk from the T-Cat station which can be used to get inexpensive limousine buses from both Haneda and Narita airports. Check in was simple and pain free and the staff's understanding of English was sufficient to check in without any issues. With regards to the room, I was on the 12th floor of the main building (room 1204). I have no other experiences of hotels in Tokyo so assume it was a "standard" size for a "standard" room in the city. The only let down about my room was the window - it overlooked the outside emergency escape route and as such, was covered in white semi-transparent perspex for my privacy, would have been nice to have a room with a view but I can't complain, in the end it was only a place for me to sleep at night as I was so busy during the day! Bathroom equipment is well provided - towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower cream, toothpaste, toothbrush and the like all provided and replenished daily - perfect if you're travelling light! Nice big bed, slightly harder mattress compared to what I'm used to, and the pillows were a bit on the thin side but im just nit-picking now, can't get everyone bed preferences perfect in a hotel bed! Breakfast, which is included in the price, was decent (and filling) - whilst the combination of salad, soup, bread/pastries and a rotating option of burger/sausage and egg (boiled/scrambled) sounds strange to a western traveller, it ensured I started the day with a full stomach! Overall I had a pleasant stay here. You get what you pay for! If you're looking for a place to crash after a day of seeing the sights and don't mind being away from the louder touristy night spots then Hotel Villa Fontaine Kayabacho is perfect. Well placed near amenities with the metro nearby, restaurants, 24hr "mini-marts" and a starbucks 200m away, this makes this a decent base to explore sights.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get the Airport limousine service to the T-Cat station. ¥820 one way from Haneda (¥1500 with a 1 day subway ticket thrown in!) beats expensive taxis and lugging your belongings around the metro. Only a 10 min walk from the T-Cat station to Kayabacho. Also consider buying the special tourist subway passes at the airport ¥1500 for a 3 day metro/toei line combo pass. Awesome for exploring Tokyo at a great discounted rate!

Tokyo Trip for Two

The hotel was right by everything we wanted to see - all the major attractions in the city. The hotel is very accessible by subway with signs for it in the station. This was one of the best trips we've taken and are very satisfied with our experience.

Villa Fontaine Tokyo

This hotel is ideal for a lower cost Tokyo hotel. It is a 5 minute walk from a Metro station and very close to the fish market.

Great location, and value

The key point, location location location is accomplished by this hotel pretty well. It's five minutes walk from the Tokyo City Airport Terminal, and two well connected metro lines. The rooms are pretty small, but then it's Tokyo. The breakfast is very basic, but gets you going. I can't say but good things about this hotel.

ok but...

Breakfast was very basic. The weirdest thing was their policy where rooms aren't cleaned after 2pm. Sleep late and it's over. I had to argue with the staff to get my room cleaned after 2pm, and the sheets weren't changed. This 2pm policy should be posted on its description. Ridiculous. Room was satisfactory, small, clean when cleaned, nice bathroom. Location is close to Haneda, but you'll travel 30+ minutes to get to the heart of Tokyo. Pretty close to the metro Kayabacho Station exit 3. No wi-fi. Had to bring my own wireless router. Business district so you'll have to travel.

Great 8-night stay

The location of the hotel is incredibly close to the Kayabacho metro station and T-CAT. Getting from and to Narita Airport is no issue by the Airport Limousine Bus. The staff is very courteous and pleasant. Their English is decent to answer common questions regarding the area and hotel services. My room was kept very clean and well stocked every night I came back. As a bonus, the hotel provides complimentary breakfast every morning. Overall, I think this hotel is a great value given the pricing and amenities. I will not hesitate to stay here again when I return to Tokyo.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Walk towards the Kayabacho metro station, see 7-11 and turn left onto the side street. You will find a bunch of small restaurants and izakayas in the area that offer different kinds of food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Be sure to you arrive no later than 8pm as most of them will be closed after that time.

Great value in a good location

Spent a pleasant five days here while sightseeing in downtown Tokyo. Centrally located close to subway station with two good lines. Good food choices in neighborhood. Smallish room, but comfortabe with large window and all the amenities, except LAN in room not working.. Great staff. Available computer in lobby. Excellent, hot, buffet breakfast included with varying menu. Would certainly stay here again.

Can't beat the location

All the staff at the hotel, from front desk to housekeeping, were incredibly friendly and polite. The morning breakfast was great and well laid out. Seating is more open after 8:30am, but otherwise, folks are happy to have you sit next to them. The room and bathroom were more than adequate for my needs and exceeded my expectations. With nearby Kayabacho metro station connecting you directly with most Tokyo tourist attractions as well as major metro stations for connecting metro lines in Tokyo, this hotel more than fulfills its promise.

Fantastic stay

My friend and I stayed two weeks in Tokyo and this hotel was really nice. It was in a great location in Tokyo so we usually didn't have to travel long distances unless we went outside of Tokyo. The breakfast was good and the room was always clean. The beds were nice, but if you have to have a really soft bed you may not be as comfortable. The bed was a bit hard, but not too hard. My friend and I were always comfortable. The hotel offered alot of amenities that I don't usually see in America. The staff was friendly and were happy to help in any way. My friend and I never heard any outside noises so sleeping was never interrupted. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
