Friendly haven in Tokyo

While a little bit off the beaten path, the hotel is well thought through, comfortable and manned by friendly staff. A complete breakfast was included, and was varied over the time of my stay. Room temperature was easy to regulate and the bed provided a deep sleep. Freshly laundered pajamas were provided. Perfect for a no-hassles stay in Tokyo. The neighborhood looked a bit businesslike, but nevertheless worth exploring. Tully's coffee shop just around the corner.

Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff, Great Value

My wife and I stayed here for 10 nights Dec 13-Jan 14 and had a great experience. The location is not the center of the party (which was fine for us), but very convenient to/from Haneda (see time-saving section) and many subway/JR lines. Breakfast toggles between eggs types (scrambled/hard boiled) and meat types (meatballs/sausages), with salads, soup, and bread provided each day – it’s ok, but gets a little redundant after about four mornings – there is a bagel place a few doors down for a change of morning scenery. Room was super quiet every night and the bed was a tad small, but manageable. At the end of our stay, the front desk shipped our two largest suitcases to our next hotel in Kyoto for $25 and they were delivered to our room the next day. There is some solid eating options around the hotel, specifically around the Hamamatsucho Station.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

From Haneda: grab the JR monorail just after baggage claim to Hamamatsucho (it's the end station, so it's idiot proof for people like me - seriously, you can't mess up!), preferably on an express train, but it really doesn't make a huge difference. Walk out of the west side of the station to the road parallel to the tracks and head south on that road for about 100 meters until the road splits and take the right (the left is a pedestrian tunnel under the tracks). Head another 100 meters until you hit the first major road/traffic light and hang a left over the bridge and cross the canal (don't cross the intersection). After crossing the canal, make the first left and walk for another 50 meters (pass the "Chinese Soft Restaurant", which is good, btw) and the road will stop and make you head right. Hotel is on the right side about another 100 meters. It will help to Google satellite image the area before you make the walk, but I can say it's not too bad. The map in the Hamamatsucho station has the hotel on it and there's an info desk with some elves that speak some English. You can also just take a cab from Hamamatsucho for around $7. Hope this helps!

good room but small

Good experience. Short walk to station. Difficult to find initially but Japanese people on the street were very helpful in directing. Desk people very helpful. Good light breakfast. Room very clean but no view.

Good stay...

I enjoyed staying here...the staff are helpful, the room is clean let alone with a very simple breakfast included and the location is quite close, like 10 mins, from the train stations. Maybe initially one will hv problem in locating the hotel but there are people around to assist you. Its just one station to/from Shimbashi so I'd recommend anyone to stay though this is more a commercial and not a shopping area.

An excellent choice in Tokyo

Just concluded six days at the hotel Villa Fontaine, Hamamatsucho Tokyo. It was my first stay at this hotel, and I was quite pleased with the hotel and staff. The included morning buffet was a very good bonus. All in all, highly recommended.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are numerous inexpensive restaurants in the neighborhood, off the main road, and a lively crowd of people working in the nearby office buildings making their way to a beer and yakitori or other tasty meai, at the end of the day.

Last Minute Life Saver

It was right in the middle of everything we wanted to see and a short 5 minute walk to the subway station. The room was a little small but clean and comfortable and just what we needed.

Standard Tokyo Hotel

This hotel is just like any other hotel in Tokyo - matchbox sized room , no space to turn in the bathroom etc etc However, for the money they charge, you can't expect any better. Looby , hallways , rooms are tidy and functional. No jazz at all. Staff is helpful and speak good english so you are sure to be understood. Only negative is the location , tucked away non-descript inside a lane with no english sign on the hotel facade On the whole, would keep this hotel on my radar for future visits
