Dining

Grill & Bar Lieu
The Grill & Bar Lieu takes its name from the French word for "place", which - in a linguistic coincidence that resonates with the sound of the stream in the hotel's inner courtyard - is phonetically identical to the Japanese word for "flow". With an impressive wine cellar and a wide selection light, healthful, Provenal-style dishes made from seasonal vegetables, prime-cut meats and poultry, and fresh-caught seafood, it offers a dining experience that is sure to delight.
Japanese Restaurant Yukuri
Located across the garden courtyard from the hotel's main building, Yukuri takes its name from an ancient Japanese word that means "to achieve rapport." Here you can experience authentic kaiseki cuisine in a setting that is at once modern and traditionally Japanese. Whether you enjoy your meal with a sweeping view of the garden courtyard, or in the intimacy of Yukuri's private dining room, it will be a culinary experience you are sure to treasure.

One night in Tokyo

Neat place, the staff is nice and the hotel quite confidential. It would be even better if breakfast was included and not so crowded. Not far from the subway.

Tokyo Dome

The primary purpose of my visit to Tokyo was to see baseball games being played at the Tokyo Dome. For this purpose the hotel was excellent, as it was only a 5 minute walk to the Dome. The hotel, while not large was clean and pleasant. Close to a train line, transportation around the city was not a problem. It is also only a 20-minute walk, through a busy (read: vibrant) area, to the Imperial Palace. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room, take a pass on this hotel. But if you plan on having a comfortable and convenient place to rest your head in between days of sight-seeing. I recommend this hotel.

Overall Nice Hotel

Hotel Niwa is conveniently located near a subway station. The hotel rooms and common areas are very clean and modern. However, the rooms are relatively small as compared to Western hotels. The restaurant food is extremely expensive, so it is more economical to eat elsewhere. The hotel also does not have an exercise room. The staff seems very willing to help and is friendly.

Niwa Hotel – Good Choise

I liked the hotel, just as expected; it is near to taxi, train and subway stations which make transportation very easy. Small room but very comfortable with all necessarily. Internet connection was a little bit unstable but I am not sure if it was because of my computer or hotel's Network. On the 3rd floor they have a refreshment room with gym, laundry, vending machines and massage chairs as well as a nice terrace.

Great hotel

Great hotel with excellent service. Clean and very well maintained. Room is a little small compares to western counterpart but is enough for one person. Hotel really pays attention to all the small details. In sum, great hotel for the price.

Hard to find, but well worth it.

Hard to find, but well worth it. From the JR Suidobashi station (Sobu line) take the east exit and turn right -you should pass a footbridge. Cross the road at the next set of lights and you'll see the sign that zig zags you through to the hotel's front door. Beautifully appointed rooms and a relaxation room on the third floor with a gym. Excellent, helpful staff.

Fantastic Tokyo

Great location. A short walk from Suidobashi Station, which is central to Tokyo. The service and room size was excellent. Has massage chairs, which are absolutely wonderful after a long day. Staff was friendly and spoke English well. Would certainly go back and highly recommended. Only downside is wifi is slow and hard to connect to in the building, still went to a cafe for better service

Great Hotel

The hotel was very nice. The staff were accommodating, and reasonably fluent in English. The room was a bit small, but that is pretty common among Japanese hotels. The Suidobashi station, which is next to the hotel, is about 10 minutes away from Shinjuku and Tokyo stations (the two largest stations in Tokyo).

Hotel Niwa is only about 10 minutes away from Tokyo Dome, which is a large amusement park. It also has a shopping center and food area, and is definitely worth visiting.

A good, clean, and super quiet hotel

Hotel NIWA is located a short walk from the much larger, more famous, and I'm sure, more expensive Tokyo Dome Hotel. I took the Airport Limousine service from Narita AP to Tokyo Dome hotel and walked the short two or three block distance to Hotel NIWA. Hotel NIWA is a little hard to find as it is nestled away amongst the small businesses and schools of the surrounding neighborhood. But it is a truly welcome find. Impeccable rooms, extraordinarily friendly, and efficient staff, and a peaceful garden atmosphere. The hotel is so quiet at times I felt like I was the only guest. I found it a little difficult to communicate with hotel staff but always found at least one or two of the staff who spoke English well enough to converse with. The hotel is also easy walking distance to the Metro subway system and JR rail. Overall I considered my self lucky to have found Hotel NIWA and truly enjoyed my stay there.
