Dining

Grill & Bar Lieu
The Grill & Bar Lieu takes its name from the French word for "place", which - in a linguistic coincidence that resonates with the sound of the stream in the hotel's inner courtyard - is phonetically identical to the Japanese word for "flow". With an impressive wine cellar and a wide selection light, healthful, Provenal-style dishes made from seasonal vegetables, prime-cut meats and poultry, and fresh-caught seafood, it offers a dining experience that is sure to delight.
Japanese Restaurant Yukuri
Located across the garden courtyard from the hotel's main building, Yukuri takes its name from an ancient Japanese word that means "to achieve rapport." Here you can experience authentic kaiseki cuisine in a setting that is at once modern and traditionally Japanese. Whether you enjoy your meal with a sweeping view of the garden courtyard, or in the intimacy of Yukuri's private dining room, it will be a culinary experience you are sure to treasure.

Loved Hotel Niwa!

From Haneda Airport, I was able to take the limousine bus to Tokyo Dome Hotel, where i walked about 5-10 minutes to Hotel Niwa. Although you have to go down an alleyway, it is overall a safe environment. Once arriving, the hotel looks exactly like the photos on the website! As a solo traveler, the room was a bit snug but perfect for one person. I'm not sure if other rooms are larger if you specify for two or more people. The amenities were great to have and were replenished daily. They also provide a pajama set with top and bottom as well as slippers. The lounge area is located on the 3rd floor and contained free massage chairs, vending machines, and washer and dryer. This was a nice plus, as I was able to spend time in the massage chair after long walks in Tokyo and wait for my laundry to be washed and dried. Suidobashi Station is less than five minutes walk from the hotel, which was extremely convenient. I was able to navigate to many tourist areas and the farther areas like Kamakura and Yokohama pretty easily. The price was great and I would stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo!

Five nights at the Niwa Hotel, Tokyo

The standard room was outfitted to excellence, especially the bathroom. The interior design was also excellent. The room size leaves something to be desired. Very small and unsatisfactory.for two persons. Two people require two chairs and only one was provided. An excellant choice for one person. The location was quite good being near the Tokyo Dome.

Perfect Hotel for Tokyo Dome Events

A short walk to Tokyo Dome and the Suidobashi JR and Metro Subway stations, this hotel is perfect for me. Staff are very nice and pleasant and most speak good English. The room is a bit small but has everything I need including a small refrigerator and a hot water heater to make tea or instant coffee. The coin-op laundry machines and massage chairs on the third floor are also a plus. Overall I am very happy with Hotel Niwa Tokyo.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The food court in Tokyo Dome City offers a variety of good Japanese food at very reasonable prices. A good option when you are traveling with a group and everyone wants something different for lunch or dinner!

A Very Nice Alernative

My family and I stayed at the Niwa between 7/10/13 to 7/16/13. The hotel is very easy to get to via Airport Limo to the TCAT terminal and then by taxi to the hotel (taxi price is about $2000 yen). The Niwa is in a great location. About 2 blocks from the JR and Metro Stations, and 2.5 blocks from the Tokyo Dome. There is also a convenience store right next door. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and all spoke English. Our rooms were on the 11th floor at the end of the hallway. They are on the smallish side, but very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Climate controls were excellent, beds were good, bathrooms have ample counter space, and shower controls were good. The rooms have a small fridge, a safe, and I believe a 28-32" TV (unfortunately there were only 2 English speaking channels). We did not try eating at the hotel restaurant although it appeared to be very popular especially in the mornings. The proximity of the hotel to Tokyo Dome made it very easy to find places to eat and shop. Not all convenience store ATM's recognize US ATM cards, so we found one operated by the post office in the yellow building of the Tokyo Dome complex. The Niwa is a great alternative to the fancier hotels in Tokyo and their rates are so much more affordable. Will definitely consider staying again in the future when we return to Tokyo.

Amazing trip to Japan

The hotel was what I had expected based on the reviews. Our stay was fantastic. Even though small the room had enough space and very comfortable. It was the nicest of all the hotels we stayed at in Japan. It was nice to have the exercise gym and laundry room. The staff was very helpful. It was easy to get around Tokyo because train and subway stations close by. Would highly recommend this hotel.
