Excellent Value

Boutique feel with modern amenities. We were on the top floor with a double and felt that space was more than adequate. Bathroom height could be an issue if you are >6 feet tall. WiFi. Location within walking distance of several subway lines - the closest being <5 min. 24 hour ATM across the street at 7-11; House-made udon open at 1 am a couple doors down. Perfect start in Tokyo and an excellent value at ~$100 USD. 4-star hotel at 3-star price.

Great Hotel for Cheap

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location and cheap too! The only draw back is the hotel room is a bit small; good for 1-2 people but if you're trying to fit an entire family in here, look elsewhere.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

A short walk around the corner is a large Biclo mall in a relatively large shopping center. What's even better is that Hotel Grand Fresa is literally 15 steps from the Tokyo Metro which allows you to travel just about anywhere in 15-20 minutes!

Nice experience for first timers

Hotel is in a very nice, secure area. Accessible to the metro station Akasaka. Convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance. Staff very helpful and courteous. Rooms are a bit small but, if you plan to venture out, that won't be an issue. It serves its purpose, rest and clean up. Overall a nice experience!

Good clean hotel, friendly staff

I stayed in this hotel for over a week. I found the location to be very good, quite close to cultural sites like the huge Meiji Jingu shrine, the imperial palace, and the Roppongi district. Other locations of interest, like Akihabara, were a reasonable metro ride away — and metro station C6 is only a couple buildings down the street, very easy to get to and from. There is free Internet service in the rooms, wired only, but a cable is provided. And free WiFi in the lobby. I found this to be a reasonable compromise (we just set up a laptop in the room to share its internet connection with our phones and iPad). The hotel does serve a good breakfast, though not free; there is also a nearby bakery (go left out the hotel doors, and then left again at the corner) where you can get a cheaper breakfast, and there's also a McDonald's down the block. The staff were friendly, and most of them spoke reasonably good English, as well as being patient with my clumsy attempts to speak Japanese. And yes, the rooms are tiny, but this is to be expected in Tokyo; we paid a little extra for a "grand" room which was still tiny, but tolerable. We would certainly stay here again.

Nice for a short stay

Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. The room was very small but fine because I was staying alone. Free wireless internet, but in the hotel lobby only. Great location!

Great Location

This hotel is a great location. It's close to the subway, restaurants, and a short walk to the nightlife in Roppongi. The hotel is also very quiet-very little street noise. The hotel has free wifi in the lobby, but you have to pay for Internet service in your room-that's the only drawback. Everything else about this hotel is outstanding. It's a great value. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There's a Subway sandwich store in the Biza shopping area connected to the Akasaka Metro station. They have daily specials on sandwiches for about 300 yen.
